DID HE REALLY SAY THAT: The Propaganda Secretary of NDC Says Mobile Phones Are the Cause of Ghana’s Energy Crisis…

Charging phones

No wonder this man is the propaganda secretary of a political party in Ghana. But even that, from what direction is he making the argument that the current energy crisis in Ghana is due to increasing number of mobile phones in the country?

According to CitiFmOnline.Com, Richard Quarshigah-Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta who doubles as Propaganda Secretary of NDC speaking on Point Blank segment on Eyewitness News said;

“Ghana is currently under-going a load-shedding exercise due to inconsistent gas supply from Nigeria, the shutdown of Bui Dam plant, and a drop in the generation capacity of the Aboadze gas plant”.

The MP-Mr. Quarshigah “questioned whether Ghanaians have considered the possible causes of the challenges the country is saddled with”.

He recalled that a few years ago, most Ghanaians were not using mobile phones but mobile phones cannot be used if they are not charged. And what do we use in charging them? Electricity.”

He is reported as adding that, the increase in mobile requires “more energy, more power.”

I cannot understand his line of argument or its merit but even if increasing mobile phones in the country demand more energy—what is a responsible government supposed to do?

Why don’t we as people like to take the blame and fix things but always have to find some unacceptable excuses for our problems?

So now we should blame our mobile phones for ‘Dumsor Dumsor’ huh?
