It appears Luis Suarez has a BIG problem with his teeth as the just ended Uruguay vrs Italy match was shadowed by what seems like another bite—-Suarez was seen biting Giorgio Chiellini as the pair tussled in the box.

Though Uruguay won the match to send Italy home, Suarez has become the dirty man of the game for his biting and now faces a lengthy ban – if FIFA decide to act upon the incident.

This is not the first time Suarez has been accused of intentionally using his teeth during a football match, he’s already been involved in two biting rows during his career so far…

Check below for the video of the bite…

Black Stars Threaten to Boycott Match Against Portugal Over Delayed Monies + President Mahama intervenes

Accordingly to multiple reports, Ghana’s national team-the Black Stars who are currently in Brazil for the 2014 World Cup, expecting to play Portugal on Thursday have threatened to boycott the match over the fact that their bonuses and appearance fees have not been paid yet…

It is understood that some senior members of the team led by Captain Asamoah Gyan have held series of meetings with the management and over sight committee members of the team in relation to the unpaid monies and boycott—and the management has sought to explain why the delay.

The football players were promised $75,000 each as an appearance fee and this money was to be taken from a large amount FIFA paid to Ghana for qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. However, the players have not been given any appearance fees, two weeks after the World Cup started—contrary to the GFA’s promise.

THE BIG QUESTION: What Do Ghanaian Men Really Want? Thick Or Slim Women?

blank

There is this unofficial trending assertion that Ghanaian men like and adore light skin women—and I do not want to look at this, at least not for today.

We cannot for sure know what all Ghanaian men want but we can certainly draw a close to correct conclusion by considering what we generally hear and see—giving the majority some legs to walk on.

As a woman, there came a time in my life when I felt I was lacking behind in the dating game and people who know me understand my preference-a Ghanaian man or no man.

During my low catching days, I became so worried to the extent that I began looking into what Ghanaian men really want so to adjust my self to it in order to make a catch.

It was during this time that I heard it all; some saying Ghanaian men like slim women and the majority saying Ghanaian men love thick women.

I clearly remember one of my male friends saying ‘who wants bones to bones, a man needs some thick body to serve as a cushion’. And by thick, the woman must have big backside too.

As slim as I am, I got more worried when almost all my thick friends had men (with some even having two or more). Eventually, I met my own catch and today, we are happily living together.

PHOTO OF THE DAY: Menaye Donkor Without Make-Up

Most of our Ghanaian celebrities hide under thick layers of make-up for a reason—personally, I’ve seen some of them without make-up and I wouldn’t recommend that the worst of my enemies be subjected to that ‘frightful encounter’. I know their faces would have been good but the constant thick make-up has somehow created unwanted patches, … Read more

New Record on the Horizon for Ghana’s Black Stars | Boye and Boateng Return to Training

Ghana Black Stars
Ghana Black Stars

The Black Stars of Ghana could become the first African nation to reach the world cup knockout stage three times in a row if they defeat Portugal on Thursday and other results go their way.

Ghana reached the knockout stage in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010, and should they qualify this time round, would have gotten out of their group for the third consecutive time; a feat never achieved by any African nation at the world cup.

Africa’s participation on the world stage has never been uplifting as one would hope. Since the continent was first represented on the world stage by Egypt in 1934, it has been difficult to make a lasting impression on the larger stage. Until 1986, no African side had ever made it out of the group stages, whilst Italia 90’ saw Cameroon’s sublime run to the quarter-finals, a move emulated by Senegal in 2002 and Ghana in 2010.

Despite all this, the one thing that had plagued the continent was consistency, as no one team could make their mark and return to subsequent mundials and stay at that top level. After reaching the quarter-finals in 1990, Cameroon crashed out of the group stages in 1994. The sad truth is whilst there has been as African side in the second round of every world cup since 1986, its only on two occasions that the same side has reached that stage consecutively;   Nigeria in USA 94’ and France 98’, and Ghana in 2006 and 2010.

This should be a testament to the great work the Black Stars have been doing since first qualifying for the world cup in 2006. In both 2006 and 2010, Ghana was the only African side to reach the second round, and everyone knows what happened in 2010 and how close the Stars’ came to becoming the first African side to ever make the world cup semi finals.

As it stands now, there are between 30,000 and 50,000 street children living at “Agbogbloshi” in Accra and these children who are full of energy know of nothing beyond struggling to live each day—with the hope of making it to the next.

Domestic violence, abandonment, death of parents or the hope for a better life are reasons, why they come to “Agbogbloshi” and in order to survive, the children take on several duties, including; collecting and sorting rubbish, begging or carrying goods across the market.

Sarkodie’s Charisma, Clout and Performance – A Challenge to Ghanaian Gospel Musicians

Sarkodie1
Sarkodie

A female die-hard fan of Sarkodie, out of intense admiration for Sarkodie and in appreciation of his top-drawer performance, lied prostrate before Sarkodie on live stage not long ago – feat gospel musicians should not overlook but see as a big challenge.

At this year’s edition of Ghana Meets Naija held at Accra International Conference Center on Saturday, 24th May, 2014, a transfixed and enamored fan of award winning musician, Sarkodie, by name Benedicta Ofosu, rushed to the stage and stretched prostrate before the said musician and crying like a baby – after which she hugged him.

The bewilderment in the whole drama, was the fact that as the lady was leaving the stage, she almost staggered to fall – as she looked groggy. Two key words which were conspicuous in most of the reportage by most online journalist were – ‘worship’ and ‘hypnotized.’

Whilst some of the headlines read – ‘female fan ‘worshipped’ Sarkodie at Ghana Meets Naija,’ others had it that – ‘Sarkodie’s performance at Ghana Meets Naija hypnotized a female fan.’ Though one can reckon that the use of those words were squarely hyperbolic, most patrons who attended the event, admitted that Sarkodie’s performance was splendid – compared to all the artists who performed on the night.

Though the word worship has been there before religion came into being, it’s largely used to describe one showing devotion to God, a demigod or a deity; but, another meaning of the word (as a noun) which many have not paid attention to is – a feeling of profound love and admiration for something. So the reporters did not commit any blasphemy when they said a fan ‘worshipped’ Sarkodie.

Indeed, they even put the worship in inverted commas to appease the conscience of religion extremists. According to the lady: “I’m a crazy fan of Sarkodie. His performance was something massive for me. I felt what he did and I was so much happy about it. I wanted to show him that someone feels and appreciates what he is doing.
