Woman Burn’s Her Own Daughter’s Hands | For Enjoying a Meal Meant for Her Dad

Shocking News
Shocking News

For some reason bizarre stories involving Parental cruelty to children has become the norm lately in Ghana. Some weeks ago, a couple was arrested for killing their little boy for attempting to have sex with his mother, earlier this week, a man decapitated his son to ‘show’ his wife for refusing to have sex with him.

The latest bizarre incident involves a woman from the Western Region who burnt the hands of her six year old daughter for devouring the meal she had reserved for her husband, the girl’s father.

The woman, Yaa Yaaba, gagged her own six year old, then held her hand over some fire to ‘teach her a lesson’. It took the girl’s screams to attract the attention of other members of the Oppong Valley community.

Reports indicate it took the intervention of several ‘strong’ men in the community to wrestle the girl out of her mom’s fierce grip.

The woman is currently in Police custody pending further investigations.

Yaa Yaaba, apparently cooked the meal for her husband and left it to run some errands.

The hungry little girl ate her father’s meal in the absence of her mother, not knowing that innocuous act was going to land her in literal hell.

Mzbel Reacts to Suggestions of Being Insensitive After Photos of Her on a Jet Ski in Ada Where Castro ‘DIED’ Surfaced Online…

Mzbel
Mzbel

Ghanaian musician Mzbel (real name Nana Ekua Amoah) is not one of the many Ghanaian celebrities who mostly blow your phone when an unfavourable publication about them hits the internet—therefore, when she called few minutes ago, I knew she had a good reason for wanting to react…

Yesterday, GhanaCelebrities.Com picked a PeaceFM publication which stated among other things that, Mzbel recently visited Ada-Aqua Safari Resort where Castro is alleged to have died (disappeared) with Janet Bandu few weeks ago.

While out there, Mzbel posed on a Jet Ski for the camera, photos taken were subsequently posted on social media—and that is where the publication and suggestions that she is being insensitive came from.

Explaining to GhanaCelebrities.Com, Mzbel said; indeed she visited Aqua Safari Resort in Ada but she was sent there by MUSIGA to meet some sponsors of an upcoming MUSIGA event.

“As the person in charge of Fund raising at MUSIGA, I was on an assignment at Aqua Safari Resort in Ada with my team on behalf of MUSIGA, and after our meeting, all the people decided to take some photos. Mostly, they were posing on the various Jet Skis which were parked. So it was not as if the Jet Skis were even on the water.” Mzbel said.

She continued “So everyone was asking that I should come and take a photo too which I initially objected but then, they kept insisting and I didn’t want people to say, I am too known so I joined in and took some shots too, just like everyone was doing”.

According to Mzbel, when she got back to Accra, she posted some of these photos with the below message which clearly highlights her sentiments on social media…

Hit-and Run Minister Symptomatic of Bigger Problem in Ghanaian Society

Daniel Syme
Daniel Syme

On Thursday night the Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Daniel Syme knocked down two people whilst driving, then promptly fled the scene without stopping to enquire as to the condition of the two victims.

The two, one Robert Abuley and a woman were riding a motorbike when the accident occurred. Robert Abuley, 37, subsequently died upon admission to the Intensive Care Unit of the Bolgatanga Hospital.

Interestingly, the minister claimed he thought he had hit donkeys, an assertion which infuriated the family of the deceased. More worrying, the Minister is still walking around two days after the incident, with the Police taking no action, not even inviting him in to give his statement.

Now I am no expert in law, but a human being has died and at the very least the police must conduct an investigation to ascertain the facts of the matter as they are. And knocking people down and fleeing the scene must surely be breaking the law.

Anyhow, this whole incident illustrates the disturbing mindset of some individuals in advanced positions in society, who feel that their position gives them a free pass towards the law.

Other than that why would this minister claim he felt he had hit donkeys, and expect people to just buy that story? He probably feels the family are lesser human beings who are probably worrying him over an unfortunate incident.

However as many people have mentioned, including the family of the victim, do donkeys ride motorcycles?

Do You Know You Can Be Arrested for Possession & Sharing the Sex Videos of Hannah Tetteh’s Alleged Son & the Others Circulating Around Under Ghana Law?

Censored
Censored

I am not an expert in Ghana Law, nor can I even say I am an expert in any law—I am still learning, as all law scholars and lawyers will do for the rest of their lives. A lawyer or legal scholar never stops learning the always changing law…

Yesterday, I was approached by a radio station in Ghana to talk about the legal implications or consequences of the making of sex tapes (hereafter seks tape) and whether it is wrong (morally and legally) on the part of those who leak these videos—and those who circulate them around, you and I.

Interestingly, taking up the challenge to go ahead with the talk taught me something new but important about Ghana’s Laws in relation to obscene materials, which includes seks tapes and images.

According to Sections 280 and 281 of the Criminal Offences Act, the making/production “for the public”, possession and distribution of obscene materials such as seks tapes, indecent images and videos amount to a criminal offence—to be precise, a misdemeanour.

This means that, engaging in the production/making/recording of such videos in itself with intention to let it go out there is a crime, that is if you are found or the material is seen by the law enforcement agencies.

And the crime does not end there, for those of us who have made ourselves the collectors of seks tapes or images, having them on your phone or computer in Ghana is also a crime—you can be arrested for that.

The moment we published an article on the alleged Hannah Tetteh’s son circulating seks tape, many people jumped from their beds, asking around for the video—mostly, to feed their inquisitive personalities.

What I did not know at the time and probably most of you do not still know is that, if you are within Ghana’s jurisdiction and you are caught circulating or in possession of any obscene material, you are in violation of the Criminal Offences Act—and the police can come after you.

From ‘Game of Thrones’ to ‘Breaking Bad’ | Valuable Hours Being WASTED?

Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones

As I mentioned in my article; A Lannisters Always Pays His Debts | One GREAT Thing Every Ghanaian Must Learn From ‘Game of Thrones’, “Game of Thrones” is an addictive cake which can steal a lot of your valuable time—without you even noticing it.

It is not shocking that the TV series is the most successful, most watched, most pirated and most downloaded TV series ever, as it has that cunning pull factor which no matter what, will catch your mind—unless you do the unlikely, by not starting to watch it.

The TV series is well structured with different characters which fit well into everyone’s fantasy and idea of a good person or life.

Ned Stark from Winterfell (mispronounced Winter Hell by Hot Pie, an orphan from King’s Landing) is the initial bait to get you into liking the story, as his honor is unquestionable. And just as you find love in Ned Stark, the writers take that big risk to chop off his head—leaving you with one necessary thing; to find out what happens to the ‘evil people’ who chopped Ned’s head.

The moment that feeling sets in, your conscience has been bought and your time is on the edge of being stolen. After Ned Stark, Tyrion Lannister and his right hand body guard-Bronn (later, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater) become interesting partners, who you can easily fall in love with—and then comes, Jon Snow, Robert Stark, Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister.

If the above people are not able to get you glued to watching one episode after the other; and one season to another, the slow but interesting character growth of Joffrey Baratheon, Arya Stark, Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, Peytr “Littlefinger” Baelish and Brienne of Tarth would definitely have the magic pull on you. Somehow, somewhere, you are deeply pulled into this TV series, without realizing how many hours you are pouring into it.

One of my friends who wanted to BINGE watch to be able to catch-up on “Game of Thrones” spent 2 days in bed with apple pie, hot dogs, 4 big bottles of coke and several packs of popcorn—that is over 40 valuable hours gone through the windows, just watching a TV series.

Today, there are several TV series out, with if not equal, close to equal magnetic strength like “Game of Thrones”, ranging from ‘House of Cards’ to ‘Freaks and Geeks’ and ‘Breaking Bad’ to ‘The Wire’, not forgetting ‘Scandal’ and ‘Suits’.
