In what is yet another move to provide DStv subscribers with the ultimate in home television entertainment, MultiChoice Ghana, yesterday (31st July, 2014), launched a new service, BoxOffice by DStv.
BoxOffice is a service that allows subscribers to conveniently rent, keep, and watch the latest blockbuster movies for up to 48 hours in the comfort of their homes, right on their DStv Explora decoders for GHS 7 per movie and your first movie is courtesy of DStv Ghana. Thereafter, customers using the service may choose to use any of the flexible payment options to rent movie anytime with BoxOffice.
BoxOffice gives subscribers access to a wide variety of movies from comedy, drama, family movies, horror, fantasy, and a whole lot more. BoxOffice is a step to encourage the ever developing and dynamic film industry in Ghana to produce the best quality films to feature on this platform.
There will be a choice of up to 20 movies at any one time and new titles will be updated regularly as they become available, giving you access to the latest blockbuster movies without having to leave your home. Each movie’s availability will vary depending on consumer popularity and availability of new movie releases from the studios.
Access to BoxOffice is currently only available to Premium subscribers with PVR subscriptions as a value-added service and the existing space available to you is up to 80 hours of recording on the SD PVR and up to 150 hours on the HD PVR.

DStv Explora Catch Up
Another great on-demand feature of the Explora that has been launched already by MultiChice is Catch Up. Catch Up is available to DStv Premium subscribers at no additional cost, and it allows subscribers to watch the week’s best programming in their own time either on the PVR or online.
With 20 hours of series and sporting highlights available on your PVR every week, you have the freedom to watch selected DStv programs when they suit you, for up to seven days after live broadcast on DStv.
In addition, DStv Catch Up offers Premium subscribers over 400 hours worth of content to wath online or download and watch later from any compatible PC or MAC. Everything from series, sporting, highlights, actuality programs and magazine shows to all the biggest movies from M-Net and M-Net’s movie channels are available for you to watch at your convenience all in one place.
