For some time now I have been thinking about the VIP group that became VVIP after the exit of key member Emmanuel Ababio AKA Promzy, leaving Joseph Nana Ofori (Prodigal), and Abdul Hamid Ibrahim (Lazzy now Zeal).
Promzy exited the group somewhere in 2013. I wasn’t surprised to hear Rockstone was joining the group because I have closely watched his hunger for relevance and praise in the industry. He had been looking for a platform to reinvent and come back strong and that is exactly the chance he got. You cannot blame him can you? That’s how an artiste should operate: With a drive and strategy to stay relevant.
Since Rockstone joined the group and we saw the name metamorphose into what was supposed to be a stronger and more productive group- VVIP. It has of course not gone as I expected. I am sure many people do not even know they are a group and strictly believe VVIP simply means Reggie Rockstone—especially on social and other media platforms.
It’s baffling how the group practically has no voice. For me, there is no group. There is one man promoting himself and his interests from ‘Selfie’ which they released a few months ago to ‘The Book of Hiplife’ presently being promoted.
Where is VVIP as a group? Do they understand what is being sold or will they be defunct and extinct before they realise they are just helping to reinvent Reggie Rockstone? Kindly understand that I bare him no grudges. I am merely echoing a growing, legitimate concern
There is no group in any form in any way. When you talk about VVIP, Reggie Rockstone has it marketed in such a way that tweets, posts, releases and fan interactions are all directed at him.
Remember again, I have already stated my ‘no malice’ stance against Reggie Rockstone but this is simply an issue that must be questioned and discussed to reach a logical conclusion. Also the main reason why I asked if there is was a transaction behind closed doors we do not know about that handed the group over to him as a personal possession. If so, why is it being fronted as a group? Because the group does not seem to mind or even notice what it has become.
It would be refreshing to see the three of them when the name of the group is mentioned! It would be proper to see all group members promote and interact as a GROUP! Because I have never had the impression they are in anyway a group. Or is Reggie Rockstone both a member and manager of the group? I stand corrected. If this is more a Reggie Rockstone reinvention, then the group should never have been sold to us as a trio. When you sell a group as a trio and end up promoting an individual and his ideas, you are definitely calling for concern and enquiries as I am doing!
Could it also be that the other two members don’t have enough energy to keep up with Rockstone and that is why he is running the show?
Again I am asking, is VIP/VVIP a group or the solo entity we see? Certainly that was not the initial idea I got when they merged.

I’ve always been a solo artist since I gave y’all HIPLIFE and so of course it will take time to switch up the minds of the people to VVIP as a group!
Too early for this sort of talk plus I am the appointed spokesperson for the group( he could have asked). I have always been a social media active and the other two have never been! Also remember I came into this via a twitter joke that become real! What is he saying? Wen the cheques are cut, we all smile!
We’ve been famous by ourselves and so no one in here is fighting for no xtra light or none! If it’s my strength that will bring us up that that is just what it is! We recorded the songs together, didn’t we? Shot the videos together, didn’t we? Got on stage together, didn’t we? I am the new member and as such the shine and attention will be on me and it’s good for us! We have no ego problems in here! If we were a young group, an article like this could have that negative vibe and cause egos to flare up. No insecurities here though!
What he should never forget to remember is who I am! The originator of the very genre that gave y’all the very group I am in! I am good at what I do and proved this over years of giving you quality music! If you put me in a group at age 50 or 16 I will still stand out! Been so since and my job in VVIP so far has been flawless! Enjoy us and forget the trivials!
