After all the suspected Ebola cases in Ghana proved negative, Ghanaians can continue to heave a collective sigh of relief over a dodged bullet. The situation, however, remains dire in our neighbouring West African countries.
Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea seem to have had the worst impact so far. The situation has become so terrible in Liberia corpses are reportedly left to rot by roadsides, due to fear of contracting the disease through handling of the bodies.
It seems there is some good news on the horizon for Liberia, though, after Pharmaceutical giants Mapp announced its store of the experimental Ebola cure Zmapp was exhausted, as it had all been sent to West Africa to help in the treatment of the deadly virus.
Zmapp is the experimental cure that was used on two US aid workers, who has since shown signs of improvement and continue to be monitored. The drug, according to the company was provided at no cost to the Liberian government.
The intervention came through after Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf made a plea to the US government, who according to the BBC, simply put them in touch with Mapp Pharmaceuticals.

About 3 years ago, we used to see several good movies (African standard) from Ghana and our stars; Nadia Buari, Prince David Osei, Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Martha Ankomah, Jackie Appiah and the others were constantly at work.
We saw the finished products of their work but today, we hardly see any movies coming out of Ghana and I am wondering what happened to them?
Is it that the Ghanaian English movie industry is completely dead or our actors have suddenly retired to work for twitter and face for free?
I follow most of the above actors on social media and I they engage in a lot of social media activities but offline, I don’t see any of their movies—not much as we used to see before.
I just want to know what happened. If the industry is gone down the drain to the extent that these stars are not getting work, then this is bad. Something must be done about it. Can’t they branch into Kumawood since they seem to be doing a lot of movies, as always.

US actor and comedian Robin Williams, 63, has been found dead in his house in an apparent suicide.
Marin County Police in California said he was pronounced dead at his home shortly after officials responded to an emergency call around noon local time, yesterday.
Williams was famous for such films as Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society and won an Oscar for his role in Good Will Hunting and his publicist has stated that had been “battling severe depression”.
According a report by the Los Angeles Times reported in July Robin Williams had recently returned to a rehabilitation centre to “fine-tune” his sobriety.
“At this time, the Sheriff’s Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to as Robuphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made,” police said in a statement.
