Shocking News

Whilst the rest of the world continue to move on and allow people to make their own choices, we down here in Africa continue to waddle in our archaic philosophies, and continue to fail to comprehend that someone being different is not a crime.

A family in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), have hit the news today because they have decided to kidnap a family member, and try to, as they couch it, ‘cure her of her gayness’.

The woman in question is Christina Fonthes, a 27 year old British national and LGBT activist from Manchester. The Independent reports she travelled to the DRC with her mom and sister for a visit, after a while her passport was taken away by her mom, who said they were going to keep her down there to work on changing her sexuality.

Ms Fonthes’ partner is BBC sports presenter Jessica Creighton, and the reporter has been trying to raise awareness for her partner’s plight. She was initially in China on assignment, but has flown back to the UK for assistance from the British Government.

She told the Independent that “It became apparent that her family were unhappy with her decision to be an out lesbian. They took her passport and want to ‘cure her of her gayness’”

I wonder how they plan to do that; they’ve probably got some pastor lined up who would do his best to exorcise these non-existent ailment Christina is afflicted with.

Is it so difficult to imagine that having a different sexuality is not a disease to be ‘cured’? Christina herself being an LGBT activist behaviour like that exhibited by her family is certainly the very thing she has been fighting against.

The British government has said they are providing as much assistance as they can.

  1. This nonsense shouldn’t go unpunished. Ms Fonthes should bring a lawsuit against the mother and being a british citizen ask her government to ban the mother from ever setting foot on British soil again. I have first hand experience with this in the 70s in Ghana where my absentee dad pulled a similar stunt because he didn’t want me to go back to my mother after my visit with him.

  2. Why do religious people find it difficult to accept gay people as god’s creation? If your almighty god is that mighty then why to religious people need to fight his battles for him? Why don’t they accept that it is his will to have gay people on the planet? why will this supreme all knowing being create gay people so as to be picked on by his other creation?
