According to a new study, London has overtaken Hong Kong to become the most expensive city to live and work in on the planet.
London was ranked above New York and Paris in a table produced by estate agents Savills on the most costly cities for companies to locate staff in.
The combined cost of renting home and office space in London reached £73,800 per employee per year, the 12 Cities report found.
As a result of the of 39 per cent rise in the costs of commercial and residential accommodation, the capital has climbed from its 5th position to 1st.
