Following Kumasi based actor-Kwesi Asamoah’s recent comment, suggesting that, Ghanaian movie Directors and Producers are bonking the actresses/actors in exchange for movie roles, the Actors’ Guild came out to rebuke him—threatening to even ban/punish him if he does not retract his comment.
And then Mercy Asiedu and others who call themselves Actresses Association of Ghana’ (ACTAG) also jumped in, serving Kwesi Asamoah aka Big Akwess a letter from their lawyers, threatening to sue him for the comment he made.
“Actresses Association of Ghana is in to seek the welfare and integrity of actresses in Kumasi and those in Accra.We won’t take such nonsense from any actor or person who does or say anything that soils the image of women in this chosen field of ours” Mercy Asiedu told GhanaCelebrities.Com.
Has any of the executives of the Ghana Actors’ Guild and this new Actresses’ association ask themselves how some of these actresses/actors who cannot ACT secure for themselves the movie roles? They can’t act, yet they continue to be featured—what is the sense or secret?
Since the Actors’ Guild wants real evidence of the ‘bonk for movie role’ enterprise, I think they have to invite Nikki Samonas who has emphatically stated that, this happens all the thing—and in fact, a film-maker in Ghana asked her to sleep with him before giving her a role.
GhanaCelebrities.Com spoke to multiple industry persons (actresses) yesterday and they were shocked that the Ghana Actors’ Guild has taken this position.
One said “so these men want to tell us they don’t know what is going on in the industry? Why don’t they send their daughters for the so called auditions meant to select the beautiful girls for bed and then they will know the truth”.

This what happens when ppl refuse to accept the truth. Yes, it may be true that most of the older Kumawood women may not have to boink for roles (probably not attractive enough..lol)but the younger, untalented ones are mostly the victims. I am surprised YvonneO, YvonneN, LydiaF and the others aren’t speaking up. Pascal Amanfo and Frank Raj are well known for the ” boink/ act” barter trade. Speak up, women!!
