Stupidity & Carelessness at Its Peak: Akon Performs at a Concert in DR Congo Inside a Protective Balloon Because of EBOLA?

Akon performs in a Bubble

Let me start by pointing out the stupidity in this whole enterprise—I mean the concert. And let me be clear that, I do not have a problem with Akon trying to protect himself from contracting Ebola in Africa if that is indeed what his action was about. He is being CAREFUL, a word the organisers of the concert may not have heard.

So Akon performed in front of thousands of people in DR Congo at a concert which was put together to support the United Nations’ International Day of Peace—and then during the performance, he wanted to engage the crowd but with the Ebola tension everywhere in Africa, he was placed in a protective bubble/balloon (see photo above). This was to protect him from coming into direct contact with the fans/concertgoers says the critics…

What is being reported is that; Akon did not want to come in contact with the crowd for fear of contracting Ebola and the organizers accept that, his life was previous—more precious than the thousands of people they had put together who were not in any bubbles.

So you are allowed to put thousands of human beings together—yet, only one person is so important that he should not be allowed to be in the midst of these people?

If Ebola was a foreseeable threat, then they should not have put the other thousands of people at risk by assembling them together for the concert, in a way that they were touching each other and sweat is being shared.

It is stupid for Akon to even accept to perform; and wicked of the organisers to put thousands of people together if they had fear of Ebola in their mind.

If a white person did this in Africa, the whole Africa would have descended on that person but because it is Akon (another African) and some careless African event organizers, we won’t even use our brains to analyse things…

Let’s say one person came there with Ebola, Akon is safe and 300 others are infected! Well done…

Anyway, despite the criticism of Akon’s actions, we must note that he staged such an act in Australia and Dubai, both in 2010—and there was no Ebola there.

  1. eemm this info is wrong,we are always in a hurry to judge people, akon was in ghana not long ago for the guinness big eruption concert and he performed in dis same bubble ball, and at that time there was no ebola scare,it was part of his act, getting into d ball and rolling over the fans,if you should check youtube or do your research well, you will know this bubble thing is no news, and its not because of ebola, lets get things right. The concert was a bad idea but the bubble bit and the info being given here is wrong.
