Nick Cannon Recognises How Dumb He Was | Cleans Mariah Tattoo off His Back

Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon

Apart from the fact that it is a little dumb to tattoo the name of any person on your skin—even if the person is your human messiah, it may also cost you a lot of money to get it removed one day if the person decides to change his or her name. Better still, if the person was your partner and dumps your butt…

Rapper and Mr. I do everything-Nick Cannon made headlines some years back when he got a big tattoo at his back—Mariah, was the word and even back then, we still said; this guy must be really be dumb.

After his marriage to Mariah Carey collapsed over cheating rumours, it was expected that the tattoo will disappear too.

Nick was recently spotted without a shirt—and as expected, he has cleaned the Mariah tattoo—or let’s say, he has covered it with something else. At least this time, it is not the name of his new woman.

Let’s hope dude has learnt some sense.

John Dumelo-One of the celebrity ambassadors
John Dumelo-One of the celebrity ambassadors

Several Ghanaians in position take Ghana and the other citizens for GRANTED—and it seems Ghanaian actor-John Dumelo is no better than the many corrupt politicians we currently have.

It is therefore not shocking that John Dumelo has told close friends that he is nursing a presidential ambition—and has even stated in various publications that he will soon venture into politics.

A surface assessment of John Dumelo’s sense of honesty in relation to the recent Brazil 2014 ambassadorial happenings indicates that John is a goodam liar and this is why we say so.

Before the ambassadors travelled to Brazil, John Dumelo told Ghanaians this;

“I can’t give you the actual figure because I don’t readily have all the documents in my hands but I can tell you that we have solicited well over $ 2million dollars”

John went further to reveal that their celebrity ambassadorial work is purely voluntary – they will receive no pay. “On the letter of appointment, it was indicated that it’s a voluntary work. There was no pay in it” he said.

African Bloggers Should Get this RIGHT | The Issue of Copyright Infringement

DoNotSteal
Copyright

From TopVincent.Com

I cannot claim to be a copyright expert but with a degree in Law and a nearly completed Masters degree in Law, I have extensive knowledge on most law related issues—including copyright and as a blogger, I do believe I should help correct certain widespread misconceptions about online copyright among African bloggers…

Copyright infringement can either be a criminal or civil offence, depending on certain factors. What we must know is that there are strict laws in place to protect the intellectual properties of people—both online and offline.

The internet has made things easily accessible but it does not mean owners of self-created works or copyright owners forfeit their rights simply because their materials are online.

As a blogger, I acknowledge that it is difficult to stay clean online without one way or the other infringing on someone else’s copyright—nevertheless, great efforts and substantial care must be taken to ensure that this does not happen.

And even when it happens and your attention is drawn, you must quickly act in accordance with the law or you could face a long chain of consequence.

For many African bloggers, there is this misconception that you can take the content (be it article or image) of another blogger/person or from any website—and all you have to do is; write source and at best link back to the original owner when you use it on your blog…

This is unlawful and doing so violates the person’s copyright—something most of us regularly or occasionally do, out of ignorance or laziness…

When it comes to copyright, the default position is this; to use the content/material of any other person in this world; you will need express permission from such a person—unless the person has expressly stated that his work can be used for free without such permission being sought.

But then, you can imagine the sort of chaos this will create in the bigger online world if everyone has to email CNN and ask for permission to report or use certain quotes from an article they’ve written.

It is out of the impracticality of the default position of copyright law that we have the principle of FAIR-USAGE by which, you can use a limited portion of another person’s work (let’s say an article). And though what is a limited portion remains ambiguous, there is a general legal consensus (let’s say guidance) that, picking not more than 100 words from an article and properly referencing (providing source and link back) would amount to fair-usage. Here, you do not need permission to QUOTE PROPERLY 100 or less words of another person’s article—take note of my words; quote properly. You must source correctly (full name of the person’s website and a link back) just as you will reference properly if it was a school/university coursework.

SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD: Man Jailed For Killing His Friend Who ‘Poked’ His Girlfriend On Facebook

WTF
WTF

The bar for killing another person must have become really low considering the reason that incensed this man leading to the death of his friend and which has landed him in jail on manslaughter charges.

The Mirror reports that Scott Humphrey punched his friend Richard Rovetto repeatedly in a cab whilst they were coming back from a ‘stag do’ in Nottingham.

Richard’s crime; he poked Scott’s girlfriend on Facebook, and the act did not sit quite well with Scott who felt Richard was overstepping his bounds as a friend.

“If you’re such a good friend, why did you poke my missus?” He asked him, before continuing his assault which eventually led to the unfortunate death of his friend.

Scott hit Richard in the face, which led to him bleeding on the nose. Another blow led to him falling down hard, hitting his head on the pavement.

Let’s Go Dutch

Thelma Louis

As a young girl growing up in Ghana I was made to understand from a very early age that no matter how bad it got in life I would more than probably finish secondary school, find a job that took care of a few bills, meet the man of my dreams and he will cater for my real needs.

And here my needs meant a brand new four-wheeler because I was going to have kids, two, a nice package of a boy and girl called Duncan and Deborah (my mum thought Duncan is better than Macbeth if I insisted on going Shakespearean). A nice three-bedroom house in Dansoman or North Kaneshie. Mind you growing up in the eighties, Dansoman and North Kaneshie were the places to live. By the mid nineties the paradigm had shifted, I was spending more time with rich friends in Cantonment, Airport, Kanda, Osu and surrounding areas.

If I could travel with my family on Ghana Airways at least twice a year, shop in Marks and Spencer on Oxford Street London, put my kids in Christ The King School, and eat Papaye on Sunday afternoons after Church then I’d know all my real needs were being catered for.

Of course dreaming is one thing, what your grandmother and those adorable aunties tell you are another, what that boy next door whispers to get into your pants is the crap and what life dishes out is the real b*tch.
