Nigerian Pastors Have Got it Going On | Survey Of World’s Richest Pastors Has 5 Nigerians In the Top 10

Nigerian Pastors seem to hold the keys not just to heaven, but to all riches bestowed on this earth beforehand.

A survey by US website Richest Lifestyle to determine the most loaded men of God has turned not too unexpected results, with five of the top ten richest pastors all coming from our oil producing western neighbours.

Winner’s Chapel boss David Oyedepo takes top spot, and other spots belong to those you might expect, Chris Oyakhilome and T.B Joshua and Matthew Ashimolowo.

Nigeria has sometimes been described as a rich nation filled with poor people, and on the evidence of this list maybe it’s not the just the politicians and the Alhaji’s sucking the wealth of the nation dry.

Sure these pastors worked hard to set up their global empires, but the spectre of wealth seems somewhat incongruous to their core mission of being spiritual fathers to a whole flock of lost sheep.

Of the others in the top 10, one is from Singapore, with the other four being from the United States.

It’s pretty impressive actually, that Nigeria beats the USA in anything related to economic wealth.

Sorry Ghanaian pastors; I’m sure it’s not that you didn’t try hard enough but there’s just not enough of us to make you anywhere near the figures these pastors command.

Here’s the list of the top ten richest pastors worldwide, as provided by richestlifestyle.com

  1. Joseph Prince – Net worth: $5 Million (Singapore)
  2. Chris Okotie – Net worth: $10 Million (Nigeria)
  3. Matthew Ashimolowo – Net worth: $10 Million (Nigeria)
  4. T.B. Joshua – Net worth: $15 Million (Nigeria)
  5. T. D. Jakes – Net worth: $18 Million (United States)
  6. Billy Graham – Net worth: $25 Million (United States)
  7. Creflo Dollar – Net worth: $27 Million (United States)
  8. Benny Hinn – Net worth: $42 Million (United States)
  9. Chris Oyakhilome – Net worth: $50 Million (Nigeria)
  10. David Oyedepo – Net worth: $150 Million (Nigeria)

  1. We shall remain impoverished as long as we have these fake ”men of God” stealing from their weak-minded followers. Africans need to wake up and smell the coffee, for this fraudulent religious scheme has deprived us of common sense and development. These African wolves in sheep clothing are enjoying their time and wrongly accumulated wealth while it lasts knowing very well that the oppressed shall one day wake up and put a stop to this rotten manipulative religious money making scheme.

  3. This is why Africa is poor. The pastors keep taking the little monies of their poor church members who are also stupid to keep giving to them. I am sure each sunday these rich pastors go and take the small money their poor congregation have

  5. If they pay 10% of their earnings in tithe, i.e if net worth is 10million that will 100,000 dollars to the church, but oops it goes back to their pockets. This is P squared for africa: Pastors and Politicians.

  7. We thank God for that. Our God is not a poor God. They same people would write a different story if these Pastors had nothing to show. U see People like Bishop Davis O. Oyedepo do NOT take salary from his church (its been like that for many years). Even if he did whats wrong with him receiving a salary. I can guarantee you the Men of God listed here have other sources of income, including Books they’ve authored, DVD, Audio tapes and other businesses they run outside church. It may interest you dear reader to know the Men of God listed here have orphanages, schools and hospitals they sponsor. I know Pastor Benny Hinn sponsors a paediatric hospital in India and an orphanage know as Our Fathers House both in Mexico and in the Phillipines. Bishop Oyedepo has scholarships for underpriviledged students to his Covenant and Landmark Universities. Lets see the good they are doing for the people of the world and especially in Africa. Their teaching have and continues to transform lives in various positive ways. The workman is worthy of his meat 1 Timothy 5:18. Notice most the preachers listed had their secular jobs before God called them into full time ministry, It wasnt like they were beggars or starving.
One day the disciples asked Jesus, We hv left everything and followed you. Jesus replied in Mark 10:29 that they would receive greater rewards for the personal sacrifices they ve made. I strong believe they are doing good more than harm
