UKIP leader-Nigel Farage
UKIP leader-Nigel Farage

Ukip’s leader Nigel Farage says the UK should control both the quality and quantity of immigration—something he will do if his party is voted into power.

It is not that his party will anytime be voted into power but to suggest that people with HIV should not be allowed into Britain is preposterous—and wouldn’t that be against their Human Rights?

According to Farage, the medical condition of people seeking to come into Britain must be considered and he is not talking about not allowing Ebola infected persons into the country—rather people with HIV.

Ghana Police
Ghana Police

It has been more than 2 months since the bizarre disappearance of Ghanaian Hiplife musician, Castro (real name Theophilus Tagoe) and his alleged girlfriend-Janet Bandu, and we’ve got no real info except that incalculable number of people claim to know their whereabouts.

One of such people, whose claims have amounted to nothing, is Maurice Ampaw – a private legal practitioner.

Lawyer Ampaw made various claims last month, saying he knows the whereabout of Castro, citing 30th September, 2014 as the deadline for the revelation of his assertions. When Ampaw was contacted on the said date, he emphatically told Ghanaians that he owes nobody explanation.

According to him, he had reported and made his claims available to the police so there’s no need of informing the public (as opposed to his earlier statements).

In relation to this, ASP Benefo Darkwa – PRO for Ghana Police Service – this morning spoke on Channel R, an Accra-based radio station.

On Castro & Janet Bandu’s Disappearance Cum Lawyer Ampaw’s Lies | Ghanaian Comedian/ A-Plus Writes…

Comedian APlus
Comedian APlus

The Castro and Janet Bandu disappearance has seen many faces and developments—but what we know for a fact is; the two have still not been found—either dead or alive.

Few weeks ago, a certain legal practitioner based in Accra-Lawyer Maurice Ampaw caught the attention of many Ghanaians through his airwaves dominance, leading the talk on the Castro and Janet Bandu issue.

Apart from accusing Asamoah Gyan of knowing more than he seems to portray, the lawyer said he knew the whereabouts of Castro and by September ending, he would let us all know the hard truth.

Many Ghanaians including comedian/musician-Aplus had issues with lawyer Ampaw, ranging from his ethics to his spread of what these people considered as falsehood.

Today is the 10th of October and lawyer-Ampaw has still not presented the evidence he promised us—the evidence he spoke about relentlessly on radio and various platforms.

Aplus therefore has written a long message; addressing who he thinks lawyer-Ampaw is and the issues he has and has always had with Ampaw…

Read it below (unedited)…

Today is Friday, the 10th day of October and the last time I’m writing about the disappearance of Castro and Janet. Some people have sent me inbox messages asking me to forget about Lawyer Maurice Ampaw and the Castro saga. I’m very sorry I’d have to disappoint you one more time and promise that this is the last time I will write about it if Lawyer Ampaw will do the honorable thing.

The reason why I have issues with Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is that, as a well letter man, he failed to understand and apply the simple English word “PROCEDURE.” Lawyer Ampaw’s discrediting of the work of the entire Ghana Police Service which had spent days investigating the mysterious disappearance in a rush to make selfish attention seeking capital out of this unfortunate incident is totally unacceptable.

Is It Always Sensible to Give to Charity?

Begger in Ghana
Begger in Ghana

The world in which we live has different kinds of people. Some of these individuals have unending opportunities whilst others are limited in scope. Even in the area of wealth, we all are on different grounds. Based on this, it has become a norm for those with wealth to give to the needy; in the form of money, clothes, food, books, etc.

Many are the charitable organizations that make appeals for funds; some internationally known, others known only locally. And likewise many are the reasons why people give. Some give because they believe it is good business or because gifts are tax deductible. Others give because of feelings of guilt, as though by charity they would atone for their sins. And others give for religious or humanitarian reasons, because of feelings of compassion, empathy or pity.

Since almost everybody considers charity to be an act that is linked to blessings and happiness, is it always sensible to give to charity?

How would you feel about giving to a charity if only 1 to 5 percent of what you contributed went to needy ones, whereas all the rest was used to pay for other related expenses? How would you feel about giving to a charity if you knew that the president of the charitable organization received huge sum of money annually as salary and expenses?

You wouldn’t be pleased with it since you know where your money which is meant for a specific cause goes to. Such things do happen from time to time.

Some few years back, Ghana’s ace investigative journalist – Anas Aremeyaw Anas – did an undercover documentary on a particular children’s home. It emerged that, items and monies meant for the needy children which were donated by individuals and organizations were used by the caretakers themselves.

If for example a person donates 10 bags of rice, about 2 bags will be cooked and shared for the needy children. The remaining 8 will be in the houses of the employees; enjoying with their relatives.

Rev. Juan Demetrius McFarland
Rev. Juan Demetrius McFarland

For those who do not know, it is a criminal offence to sleep with another without a protection when you know you have an STI, something serious like HIV—and this is exactly what an Alabama pastor did.

Rev. Juan Demetrius McFarland of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will surely be facing the law for knowingly spreading the HIV virus to his numerous church members.

It appears as when the female church members were shouting Hallelujah each Sunday, he was looking through for his next target in bed—and to infect.

According to reports, Rev. McFarland confessed his HIV status to his congregation on September 14th— and as expected of some of the many credulous fools who attend churches, they were forgiving and accepted his mistake. But when they realized he had HIV and was spreading it that way, they got upset…

WEEKLY DISCUSSION: Should We Re-DEFINE the Rules? | Who Thinks a Man Should Pay on the First Date?

Couple enjoying dinner

With the progress of society and shift in the way things are done, a lot of things have changed in the world—including some of the rules of dating which some of us thought were basic, therefore should not have been adulterated.

Even today, it is no more awkward for a woman to propose to a man and for a woman to be in charge of a relationship or the house, doing most of the things that a man was traditionally expected to do in a relationship.

As a woman, I’ve embraced some of the numerous relationship changes time and society has re-defined and to be frank, I have no problem with most of them. I go about behaving in a way accepted today without it clicking me that, some years back things were not really this way. I’ve adopted fine to a lot of things.

But there is this particular rule which I believe should be re-defined, and I mean, we must take it back to how it used to be. I am not talking about women being able to propose to me, something which has become more rampant that you would expect—that is fine, I sort of thing it gives women the power to act instead of sitting down waiting on a man.
