Boko Haram to Release the Over 200 School Girls Kidnapped After a Deal with Nigeria’s Government

After about 6 months of holding over 200 kidnapped girls in Nigeria hostage, the government of Nigeria has broken a deal with the terrorist group-Boko Haram who adopted the girls—and Boko Haram has agreed to release 200 of the girls.

It surely looks like the global campaign requesting Boko Haram to free the schoolgirls has worked as Nigerian officials stated yesterday that the release of the girls is imminent.

Boko Haram has agreed to a truce with government forces and will free the 219 school girls who are still being held in a remote forest since their shocking abduction.

Nigeria’s government spokesman-Mike Omeri has come out to say apart from the release of the girls, the warlords also agreed to halt bombing and kidnapping campaigns—and the Nigerian army has also agreed not to target their camps.

Negotiating with terrorist groups is not the way forward but when there is no way, it seems like the perfect option…
