Robbers in Nigeria Write to Residents of a Town Demanding ‘End of Year’ Gifts

People often get anxious as the year draws to a close, particularly parents who have to determine how to raise the cash needed to get all those presents and finance the fun activities their kids would expect.

But residents of some suburbs of Lagos has been introduced to a whole new level of end-of-year anxiety, as reports indicate amongst all the presents they have to buy for friends and family, the armed robbers in the area has also written to them demanding their share.

A Trent News report indicates that copies of the letters purported to be written by the armed robbers were found floating through the townships involved early one morning, and people who picked them up to read received the shock of their lives.

The letter indicated that the people should get their end of year presents ready, and that they would come around for them. Failure to do so would yield disastrous results.

Shatta Wale Allegedly Beats a Man Over GH₵ 150

The reigning Ghana Music artiste of the year – Shatta Wale – has over the years been in the news for several reasons.

Recently, he was dragged to court by Events Company, Charter House, and its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Iyiola Ayaode for defamation. Even though the case is still in court, Shatta Wale has allegedly landed himself in fresh trouble.

According to Daily Guide, the self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’, brutally assaulted a man he owes. Per the report in the newspaper, the man, who gave his name as Rashid Abu, claimed Shatta Wale owed him an amount of GH₵ 150.

Efforts to collect his money from the musician proved futile. Rashid claimed Shatta Wale even insults him (Rashid) whenever he calls his (Shatta Wale) phone to demand for his money.
