Man Commits Suicide On ‘Suspicion’ That His Girlfriend Was Cheating on Him

Lord have mercy

Stories of people committing suicide over love are often a little strange, but more often than not before taking an action as irreversible as taking one’s own life the supposed infidelity has been concretely established.

This must be the first time I have heard of anyone committing suicide over suspicions of infidelity.

Daily Guide reports one Nyatorgu Grumah, a galamsey operator in the Western Region committed suicide over the weekend because he suspected his girlfriend, Abena Gifty, of having an affair.

He subsequently hanged himself using an electrical wire in an uncompleted building, in the township of Wassa Adiembra.

Western Regional Public Relations Officer of the Police Service, ASP Olivia Adiku, confirmed the incident to the newspaper.

Grumah is believed to have had a series of confrontations with his girlfriend over his suspicions, and went to visit her on the day of the incident.

He heard her on the phone with the man he believed to be the new object of her affection, and left the house angrily thereafter.

The next anyone saw of him was of his suspended corpse; a concerned friend who could not find him at home carrying out a search that ended with his discovery of the body.

The Police PRO said there were no signs of struggle, and a scheduled autopsy is set to shed more light on the whole incident.

Is that really enough evidence to take one’s whole life? What do you think of people who commit suicide in the name of love?
