How Many Cups of Kool-Aid Did He Drink? | Ghanaian MP Tells Parliament to Pass a Law to Allow Adulterous Women to Be Stoned to Death…Now What About the Men?

REALLY

First of all, the proposal to have parliament pass a law which will allow women who cheat on their husbands to be stoned to death in Ghana as it’s done in certain Islamic states is preposterous—yet the Member of Parliament for Daboya/Makarigu in the Northern Region- Nelson Abudu Baani has called for this…

The MP is reported to have said during deliberations over the interstate Succession bill currently before parliament that; “Day in day out in Afghanistan, if you go behind you husband they hang you”..

And that “If they [Parliamentarians] add that [to the bill] we will get very genuine women in families”.

Even though we are interested in the number of cups of kool-aid this MP drunk before getting up to speak in parliament, the question remains; what should be done to the men who cheat then?

It’s astonishing to know that, in this day and age in Ghana we have leaders like Nelson Abudu Baani who believe women should be stoned—and men should freely do what is fetching the women the stoning…

In furtherance of his submission, Hon. Nelson Abudu Baani stated that, the current Interstate Succession law permits a woman who has cheated on her deceased husband to inherit his property, even if the adultery resulted in a child from another man and as such the bill in discussion should not take the same path.

Until the bill is drafted to favour men more, he asked that other parliamentarians should reject it.

“I want members at this time to reject it [the bill]. This thing will bring a lot of controversy in my area. Some of these women are ‘alomo jarta’ in their houses so if a woman that I am married to brings me a bastard what is the [punishment] for those type of women. Unless punishment for women who are not faithful is added, we should not adopt it” he said.

  1. Stoning women to death is a sharia law. Unfortunately for the MP, Ghana is a democratic nation and therefore run by the constitution. If that idiot feel the need to stone women to death for committing adultery maybe he should move to an all Islamic State. Ghanaians will not implement sharia law because of him.

  2. A jackass sitting as an MP. This worthless piece of turd should be thrown out of parliament for suggesting that only adulterous women should be stoned. Is he attempting to compare Ghana to the talibanized Afghanistan? This is a great opportunity to show him what actually takes place there. Someone should waterboard him since he seem to like Afghanistan we should give him the Afghanistan treatment.
