You wouldn’t catch this happening in Ghana but Zambia is doing it…
Zambia’s Patriotic Front (PF) has suspended President Guy Scott who is the leader of the party for “not respecting the constitution”.
Apparently, Scott has “been hiring and firing people for no apparent reason and without consulting the central committee,” claims spokesman of the part- Malozo Sichone.
According to article 58(c) of the PF constitution, the Central Committee has authority to discipline all members of the party. Under article 58 (m), the Central Committee can take action which in its opinion was in the best interest, security and development of the party.
Mr Scott who took over after President Michael Sata died last month, though sacked as the leader of the party will still remain a member of the party and will also remain Zambia’s president until the upcoming January elections…
