Wicked Ugandan Nanny Pleads Guilty In Court | Faces Up To 15 Years In Jail

The case of the Ugandan nanny who physically assaulted a little girl beyond any sense of reason that captivated the world and raised several issues on how house help should be employed and treated seems to be drawing to a climax.

The nanny, 22 year old Jolly Tumuhirwe, was in court earlier today for her case. She has been charged with torture and pled guilty to the charge according to the BBC.

She faces 15 years in prison, a fine of $400, or both.

The video showing Tumuhirwe abusing the 18 month old girl was a particularly vile one that was certain to leave any person livid with rage at how anyone could be so heartless, particularly towards a child.

I wouldn’t bet against the fact that it’s the delusion of many of our Ghanaian celebrities which somewhat makes them feel they do not live within a legal jurisdiction and as such they can do whatever they want. Let’s hope I am right on this because the alternative plausible answer is that; most of they are just STUPID.

And I do not see Kwaw Kese being granted bail anytime soon or the court tempering justice with mercy to his favour if the so many powerless celebrities do not stop their antics, comments and social media attacks on the judiciary—allowing them to do their jobs.

By precedent and per the punishment stipulation, Kwaw’s alleged crime can fetch him up to 10 years in prison and if by now these so called celebrity friends have not realized it’s not some sort of a misdemeanour which can be washed away by their hogwash, then they are in for a bigger shock. And at the end of it all, it’s Kwaw who would have to suffer for their indirect contempt and unwanted support which bring no real pressure to bear on the judiciary.

You do not have to be a legal brainer to realize that, you do not start a social media campaign to free a person who has committed an alleged crime that is on the statute book—just because the person is some deluded celebrity.

The free ‘whatever campaigns’ come into force and have the tendency to bring change when an alleged crime is under contention, when the law is deemed as unjust in a particular instance or when an arrest/detention does not follow the rule of law or due process.

You do not gather a bunch of people on social media to try and pressure the judiciary into freeing someone when the law is well established, uncontested and unjust. And your celebrity friends cannot make any real impact in seeking your release by just loosely talking on radio or randomly visiting you in jail.

Apart from the interesting cast, ‘WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND’ has already received 7 Ghana Movie Awards 2014 nominations including Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography—and it is set to premiere on 19^th December, 2014 at the SilverBird Cinemas (Accra Mall-6:30pm and 9:30pm).

The next day-20^th December, 2014, the movie will again be premiered at the Weija’s SilverBird Cinema (6:30pm and 9:30pm) and the cast together with other celebrities will attend both premieres.

‘WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND’ revolves around a character named ‘Love’ (played by Zynnell Lydia Zuh). After an early heartbreak Love grows up not believing in true love. Money and social status become her main criteria as she searches for her dream man.

During a hangout with her two close friends-Vicky (Eku Edewor) and Didi (DJ Pierra Makena), she finds her dream man but that is when her true love comes knocking too.”

Featuring a strong pan African cast- Zynnell Zuh, Jim Iyke, Eku Edewor, Mikki Osei, Edward Kuffuor & Others, ‘WHEN LOVE COMES AROUND’ is an excellent first time effort from actress-Zynnell Zuh as a producer and a co-writer.

The movie was directed by Afe Olumowe who penned hits like Chelsea and directed the critically acclaimed thriller-The Voice.

EXCLUSIVE: What Killed EXOPA Boss Ibrahim Sima? How He Died SECRET TAPE Exposed | He Did Not Complain Of Headache, He Died in Prison Not Police Hospital | So Earlier Reports On His Death Were FALSE?

News broke out on Thursday, 6^th Dec, 2014, that Exopa Modeling boss, Ibrahim Sima had died – whilst serving his 15 year jail term in Nsawam prison.

According to the report: The Head of Public Relations at the Police Hospital, ASP Juliana Obeng told Citi News that the family of Ibrahim Sima has since been informed of the news.

She also confirmed that Ibrahim Sima died at the Police Hospital between the hours of 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm. The report goes further to state that he complained of headache a day before he died.

However, a secret tape interview available to GhanaCelebrities.Com indicates that there is more to the earlier report published on Ibrahim Sima’s death. According to the tape, Ibrahim was playing soccer with his colleagues in the prison yard. He collided with one of the players and seriously hurt his ribs.

According to the tape, he allegedly complained several times to the prison officers that he is going through severe pains but he was ignored – with the reason that the prison has no car to carry him to an outside hospital other than the one in the prison’s premises.

He sustained the injury for days and complained bitterly of pains – until when his situation got worst. By the time the officers attempted organizing themselves to take him to an outside hospital for proper treatment Ibrahim Sima had died – NOT AT THE Police Hospital as the PRO of the hospital stated.

Again, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, DSP Vitalis Aiyia, also confirmed that Ibrahim Sima was sent to the Police Hospital where he died but the tape confirms otherwise.

One Person Dead After A Building Collapsed in Cantoments: 12 Others injured

A carpenter working on the construction of a Lebanese restaurant at Cantoments in Accra met his untimely end when the building he and his colleagues were working on just flat out collapsed.

12 others were trapped under the rubble, but concerted efforts from Police and Fire Service personnel led to their rescue and subsequent transportation to the hospital, with nine of them having so far having been discharged.

The deceased, according to Graphic Online, has been identified as Alex, a married man with one child.

The incident occurred around 11:30pm Saturday night, and the police got information early enough to go there; but between them, the Fire Service, and The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), they could not muster the right equipment to begin rescue work right away.

So that’s how the victim stayed under the rubble till the next day, at which point his rescue was rendered moot, since he had already died.

Beyonce was a ravishing sight even without trying too hard, Jay Z also looked great in his suit. ‘Annie’ hits theaters on December 19.

New Music Video: ‘Sometin Lost’ By Eazzy Featuring EL

Female Ghanaian artiste-Eazzy has released a video for her new single-Sometin Lost, featuring EL of Auntie Martha fame—and though you cannot downplay EL’s excellence on the song, the video doesn’t pull it that much for me.

Location wise, the visual doesnt bring anything interesting to the table and the ‘boogie’ from Eazzy could have been stepped up to create some genuine excitment…

The video is directed by Prince Dovlo.
