The ‘First Fruit’ SCAM!

A woman holds 03 July 2007 in Accra a wa

If you have a father who you trust to protect you, bless you, provide for your every need and has many mansions paved with silver and gold – is it not ambiguous of him to ‘order’ you to give all your money to him as an act of faith to see if he would not provide for you in the future bearing in mind that you have to eat, clothe, shelter and fix weave?

Some (majority) of pastors search the bible, looking for quotes that can be used to make merchandise of men. The year is almost coming to an end and some overzealous churches have started giving envelopes to collect ‘first fruit’ in January. First fruits I got to know is the salary/wages of the first month of a new year. So, after paying tithe every month/week, sowing seeds for any and everything I want God to do for me – then in January, after counting down the days to payday as some people do after squandering all their money to celebrate Christmas, they should give the money to the pastor as first fruits – this is daylight thievery now.

Christmas is Almost Here: I Would Be Celebrating But Should Christians Be Celebrating It?

father Christmas

It’s been a long debated topic, what are the true origins of the Christian celebration of the birth of Christ. With this year almost at its end, it is a topic worth revisiting.

Christmas is quite possibly the biggest global holiday, celebrated in most of the world. Even in many non Christian countries festivities are carried out just in accordance with the season, especially because The New Year is the New Year everywhere, and Christmas is just a week beforehand.

So should Christians be revelling in the festivities reserved for the 25th of December every year? What are the origins of the choice of date, and what are the meanings behind those.

To begin with, the bible makes no mention of the birth date of Jesus. It cannot be proven that Jesus was born anywhere near December; and whilst even a mention in the bible would not have been incontrovertible proof, at least it would have been something you could hang your hat on. As it stands even that does not exist.

As with most things surrounding organised religion, a group of people sat somewhere and made a decision for the rest of the populace. When it occurred that the birth of Jesus had to be celebrated, a convenient time was chosen, one that would help in converting heathens of the time as well as be the most attractive to followers of the faith.

As sources, I’m using two pieces I found in my research; one making the argument for Christmas and the other against Christmas. What both agree on though, is that 25th December has significance far predating the birth of Christ.

It doesn’t really hurt if you are not aware that another woman or man is banging your partner—but if the person comes right to your face and tell you, it goes beyond the hurting box. Your dignity is breached and you must leave to keep the little self-respsct left.

Of course many women who are with celebrities for the money or fame will not leave even if another woman does not just claim she is having affair with their men—but presents photo evidence too.

A certain woman has written to Nigerian Blog-BellaNaija.Com with photos showing Wizkid in her bed, telling the musician’s girlfriend that, she has been chopping down her man.

According to this mystery woman, she had an adventurous night at Eko Hotel with the Nigerian musician and she wants her girlfriend-Tania Omotayo to know.

What a disrespect…

But would Tania Omotayo even think about leaving or evaluating this? We don’t think she will even attempt to discuss it with Wizkid for fear of losing him.
