Isaac Abeiku Aidoo, CEO of Goodies Music who was serving a prison sentence at Nsawam prison for attempting to smuggle cocaine out of Ghana into UK has been released—and he will be spending Christmas with his family.

Popularly known as Goodies- Isaac Abeiku Aidoo was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport on April 23, 2008 and he was sentenced to 13 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to attempting to export 80 pellets of cocaine to London. He has however received an earlier release, gaining his freedom yesterday-23 December, 2014.

In an emotional speech before he was convicted in 2008, the music producer stated: “My Lord I’m not a drug dealer and have never involved myself in any drug problem. I don’t smoke and don’t drink and so do not know how on earth I put myself in such trouble. I was surprised when I was told it was cocaine because I did not even know what I was carrying. I am humble and don’t put myself in such trouble”.

Narrating how it all started, Goodies told the court then that a friend in London by name William, who is a spiritualist, asked him to bring something he actually did not know, to him in London when he was about to travel there to raise funds for the Ghana Olympic Committee in the lead-up to the Olympic Games in China.

He revealed that his friend told him not to allow anybody to see the thing as it was for spiritual purposes promising to pay him £3000.

Goodies is a father of three children including twins and worked as a producer for stars such as Lord Kenya, Tictac, VIP, Sydney, Nana Kwame, Tony Tetuila, Mzbel and 2face.

Welcome home Goodies but stay away from drugs!
