Thinking inline with reason and employing all the needed scepticism to be able to make a logical deduction from situations seem to be lacking in the Ghanaian food ingredient—we seem to eat more than we are able to think on our feet.

The last one week has been full of talks, debates and opinions about the innocence or otherwise of Kwesi Kyei Darko (KKD) who was arrested for allegedly raping a 19 year old girl he picked up at a fashion event the same.

Some of the discussions and opinions I have read are pretty interesting, but many are shockingly ignorant, born out of emotions and not logical deductions.

No one wakes up each day praying that a celebrity should find himself at the wrong side of the law but these people are not saints and as such when things happen, we shouldn’t let status or accomplishments cloud our judgments.

Following KKD’s arrest, I have come read several accounts of women who claim KKD s*xually assaulted them in past when they were young—and even if one of these women is a mere hater looking to pull him down, what about the other 10 or so women making similar claims?

I am not by any means suggesting that, the fact that several women have come out to accuse KKD of having done something of the same sort to them in the past means he is guilty—but I wouldn’t also say 10 people making similar claims are all evil and the one who is at the centre of the claims is the good person.

The world is pretty much a circle and most of the things we do come back to bite us, especially when we think we got away with hurting innocent people—and long when we’ve even forgotten about our diabolical actions.

I wouldn’t bet on one against ten—and this not because I hate the one but it is because probabilities do not work that way.

There is no smoke without fire and anytime you have multiple independent people accusing someone of having done something; it’s pretty likely the person has indeed done that…

KKD may be guilty or innocent as far as this allegation is concerned but looking at the bigger picture, he isn’t to me to be that person you should leave your little girl with because people don’t really change in life.

Let’s shake off the dust of stardom and look at the developing issue with critical eyes—and consider the issue in light of the emerging allegations.

To me, over 10 people cannot be wrong—so that one person will just be right!
