KKD Has Been at the Police Hospital for Some Days Now | Bail to Be Requested on Health Grounds?

It’s obvious Kwesi Kyei Darkwah did not take the rape allegation brought by the 19 year old girl seriously—and this was evident in the manner he and his lawyer appeared in the Court for the first hearing which remanded him in jail.

Yesterday, KKD was reported to have been at the Police Hospital while his lawyers were sweating at the Human Rights Court in an attempt to seek for a bail on arguments which may go like this; though rape is a non-bailable offence in Ghana, the continuous holding of KKD in jail breaches his fundamental Human Rights.

The Human Rights Court adjourned their bail request hearing to January 13 on the grounds that the prosecution did not have enough notice, we are told. And it is shocking as to why the media would have known about this bail application about a week a go but the prosecution was only served a day before the hearing…

After today’s remand in jail by the District Court pending the outcome of the Human Rights Court hearing, GhanaCelebrities.Com has been informed that, KKD is still receiving treatment at the Accra Police Hospital—and as such, we shouldn’t  be shocked if his legal counsel files another application for bail on heath grounds.

For now, it looks like reality has kicked in and KKD together with his legal team have realized, it is not going to be a walk over case…

Also, they seem to have ended their plenty media talk—which we’ve said wouldn’t help their case in Court.

  1. IF I EVER FIND MYSELF IN POLICE CUSTODY AND CANNOT MAKE BAIL, PLEASE REMIND ME TO CONJUR THE SPIRIT OF EBOLA(NOW THAT EBOLA CAN CURED) SO I CAN MAKE BAIL.

  2. KKD and his legal team underestimated this case from day one. Bediatuo was on radio talking as if he is God and can get KKD out on bail for sure.

The sweating hasn’t even started yet. When Effe presents her medical report in court & her testimony, that is when KKD will really sweat blood.

  3. Proof that Ghana is still backward? This and Kwaw Kesse’s case. There is a saying that you can judge a country’s civility by how it treats its citizens who have become afoul of the law. In any civilized country, bail would have been granted for both cases and they’ll be home awaiting trial. But the little west African country filled with wickedness and brutality chooses to brutalized those accused. It’s no wonder average Ghanaians believe they can lynch people accused of theft. After all that is what the government does to those without connections accused of crimes. The putrid and infested country surrounded by a perpetual haze of corruption plays the ‘holier than thou’ card each time. Considering the corruption, theft and wickedness in Ghana and the general disregard for the law and rules by everyone including the police, what right do they police have to send anyone to jail? By what right does the state hold people and try them?

    • My friend what are you referring to as brutalizing and wickedness? Do u have daughters or sisters or even a mother? You think u wouldn’t want KKD caged up if he did tht to your niece? Don’t you know rape is a felony and therefore any judge assigned to this case of alleged rape must be extremely careful in reviewing bail requests. Maybe you are not aware tht narcotic offenses by law are non-bailable? We joke abt the subject of wee in this country but the fact still remains…it is a narcotic drug so if ure caught with it then be prepared to face the consequences. There are consequences to everything..you will enjoy ur crimes when u are not caught but once you are caught don’t expect to be treated special or cry abt being brutalized. It’s called pay back!

      • Unproven rape. Until it is proven he’s innocent and shouldn’t be in jail. Just pray you don’t end up in a similar state over just an accusation.

      • And in a country like Ghana where the law is flouted and ignored it takes a lot of guts to jail people before their crime is proven in court. Do you believe any judge in Ghana is capable of critical and objective review of the law? I doubt that. Most are brain dead poseurs who just prance around with their worthless law degrees. In north America they’ll be notaries or real estate lawyers not trial lawyers. Some don’t even know the law.
Do you believe the law is equally applied in Ghana? The cocaine lady got 8 and 8 months in the UK. In Ghana she would have gotten more than 20 years based on the whim of an inane and inept judge. Why? Because Ghana is lawless even in its courts. It’s my belief that her accomplices will serve longer terms than her. A petty thief gets outrageous years while true criminals walk the street.
Payback? For what? Is the state in the business of paying back people for crimes?

        • Look hear, you can write the longest essay and even pull all your hairs out for KKD if you want. The fact still remains – he is in real hot water…. you say I shd pray am not in the same situation one day? nonsense, I have no business inviting teenagers into my hotel bathroom to help me powder my face and further have s*x after meeting the teenager only minutes before. He deserves all the sh*t he is in.

And when that happens, I hope you don’t mouth off the same way and call for the Ghana justice. You may be strung up and burned by the mob. Or kept in prison before you can prove your innocence. You should make the distinction between being accused and being convicted. You seem to believe just accusation means you are guilty. I hope you never suffer false accusation in Ghana.
