The Commissioner for the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)- who was recently accused and investigated for spending over $180,000 on rent alone has been SUSPENDED by President Mahama.
Last year, it emerged that since Lauretta Vivian Lamptey assumed office 3 years ago; she was yet “to move into her official residence which was still under renovation with several variations at cost of GHC 182,000”.
Meanwhile, she was said to have rented an apartment at the AU Village at the cost of $4,500 per month. She was however ejected from her rented apartment following the expiration of her 2013 tenancy.
The level with which some Ghanaians defend those who have intentionally broken the law, hurt others and have taken away the dignity of others is beyond shocking—and Kwesi Kyei Darkwah’s case brought this to light… Trust that whatever someone does in this world, he or she will have supporters, mostly credulous supporters who fail to … Read more
KKD has publicly apologised for the “ridicule and disgrace” his actions brought—and asked the media “to spare Ewureffe and our respective families any further agonies.”.
Is it this not strange that KKD is now apologising and asking the media leave the case alone?
According to a GhanaCelebrities.Com reader, he is totally aware of a delegation of pastors and Ghanaian rich men including someone from his own family who went out on many times to Miss Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson’s family on KKD’s behalf to settle things—and in line with speculations, this person also claims, some sort of money was paid to Ewureffe.
Anyway, is KKD’s apology enough? Maybe we deserve to be told the REAL truth by KKD and his people as to what happened…
The 2015 Cup of African Nations is now mere days away, with the Black Stars secluded in Seville, Spain; preparing to make their umpteenth onslaught on the rest of Africa for that ever elusive fifth continental title.
Kwesi Appiah had a mixed two years in charge of the side, the high being the impressive world cup qualifying campaign that saw the team making it to Brazil without barely breaking a sweat; culminating in the 6-1 demolition of everyone’s favourite Egypt in Kumasi.
The low was definitely the campaign in Brazil, Ghana marking her poorest performance on the world stage, a disunited team plagued by issues both on and off the field. Brazil 2014 concluded with every Ghanaian losing a bit of the little prestige we have managed to garner on the world stage due to the disgraceful conduct of the Stars, so Kwesi Appiah was let go.
In his place was appointed the Israeli Avram Grant, 59 year old former manager of Chelsea, Partizan Belgrade, Portsmouth, West Ham, and his home nation as well as both Maccabi clubs.
He’s quite a well travelled coach as his resume shows, and has had moderate success throughout his career. He was technical head at Chelsea for a while, before being handed the reins after the departure of the ever controversial Jose Mourinho in 2007. He led the Blues to the UEFA Champions League final, where they lost on penalties to Manchester United. He also led them to second place in both the league and the league cup, but the trophy hungry Roman Abramovich got rid of him at the end of the season.
That was the highest point of a career spanning decades, as it was during that year at Chelsea that he gained worldwide recognition. On the flip side, he led both Portsmouth and West Ham United to relegation from the English Premier League. There were mitigating factors, surely, but he was in charge during that time, thus bears if not full, at least most of the responsibility.
According to social media talks which remain unconfirmed, certain big men of our Ghanaian societies, ranging from pastors to rich men from a particular church went to see the alleged KKD rape victim- Miss Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson—for an out of court settlement. Apparently, using the public backlash, these negotiators reminded the young girl and her family of … Read more
In almost all the advanced countries in the world, a staggering 90-95% of rape cases are not reported per countless studies—-due to how victims are treated by society once they come out and Ghana is even worse.
It’s therefore not shocking that the young 19 year old girl- Miss Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson who reported Ghanaian radio personality-Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) for allegedly raping her has expressed her dis-interest in the case, citing the way she has and continues to be treated by society as the reason.
Society has made her life hell since she told the police about what KKD is alleged to have done to her. According to Miss Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson, since the incident, she cannot even step out of her house without people throwing all manner of insults at her or pointing fingers her way…
According to reports, a two page letter dated January 12 from Miss Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson which she addressed to the Director of Public Prosecutions at the Attorney-General’s Department and copied into it the Chief Justice, the Registrar of the High Court and others, stated the public and media attacks on her person as her reasons for not being interested.
She called these attacks on her person insensitive—adding that, since her report, her life has become torture clothed in harsh gossip and insults by people.
She is reported to have stated in the letter that, she is currently receiving counselling from her church, certain elders and she wants to put this behind her to move on with her life—as she hopes God will heal her.
When Miss Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson alleged that KKD had raped her, about 10 different people came out claiming to have in the past also been sexually assaulted or raped by KKD—but they all cited their fear of societal backlash as the reason why they couldn’t even tell anyone let alone the police about these sexual assaults.
Yesterday-January 12, tube (underground) commuters around the world celebrated the 13th annual no pants day—meaning, you travel to work or wherever you normally go without a trousers.
For 13 years, this has been celebrated each year—and for this year several passengers from several countries joined in.
The no pant day “mission started as a small prank with seven guys and has grown into an international celebration of silliness, with dozens of cities around the world participating each year.”
Surely, Ghana will join in soon even though we do not have any underground—and the only reason why Ghana has not caught the fire yet is because most people do not know about the celebration. Do you remember Halloween?
Anyway, check below for photos of this year’s no pants day from around the world…
KKD (Kwesi Kyei Darkwah) has today been denied another bail—as his hearing at the Accra Human Rights Court has been adjourned once again to January 15.
KKD’s lawyers appeared at an Accra Human Rights Court today hoping to secure bail for their client and once again they failed. In Court, lawyers of KKD asked for a private session with the judge (which is often done in Court to shade certain information from the public) and when they returned, the judge adjourned the case.
Before today’s Human Rights Court bail hearing, Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) appeared at a District Court on 8th January and was remanded in prison to reappear in Court on January 22…
As a result of the above, the District Court also adjourned, saying, since they have already made an application for bail at the Human Rights Court, it would be prudent to hear the outcome of that application before it continues with its hearing—which would likely be to transfer the case to a higher court.
KKD was arrested late December 2014 when a young girl of 19 years reported to the Accra Airport Police Station that the radio personality had raped her—after she met him at a fashion event at the African Regent Hotel.
According to the KKD’s Rape Charge Sheet (see it below), KKD asked the 19 year old girl and her friend to accompany him to his hotel room—and help him fix his make-up (face powder) because he would be hosting the show which would later be on TV.
The victim claims that, when they got the room, they were offered some drinks which they refused. KKD then called her to the bathroom to come help with the make-up fixing. And it was there that KKD forcefully had sex with her.
Since it emerged that a young girl has reported KKD to the police for rape, an accusation KKD has denied on the grounds that he had a consensual sex with this 19 year old girl—-more than about 8 different women have told GhanaCelebrities.Com their heartbreaking and shocking stories claiming this same KKD sexually assaulted them in the past.

Do you think it’s only Obinim and his ilk who commit questionable acts to acclaim from their congregations? Think again, as this video of a New Jersey pastor proves.
There are many ways to bring a wayward person back to the Lord, and this pastor decided to take a rather more unconventional approach. In a sermon to his congregation, he recounted to them the process he used to lead one young man to the Lord.
Pastor Eric Dammann of the Bible Baptist church laid out a wayward youth he described as a smart aleck. The kid was not taking the Lord seriously, so he punched him square in the chest to bring him to his senses.
In a video posted to YouTube, he recalled the kid was being a ‘real smart aleck’ and ‘pushing his buttons’.
“So I walked over to him and I went, Bam! punched him in the chest as hard as I could. I crumpled the kid. I just crumpled him” He said, demonstrating the blow.
Anyway, let’s leave the loose wh*res to fight but what has the kid got to do with this? Yet Amanda loudly said, she hates her own kid just because the kid looks like the father…
OMG! Really?
A friend of Mona (current girlfriend of Kenpong) who was attacked in the audio by Amanda (current wife of Ghanaian footballer Afriyie Acquah) has replied Mona—and we sort of agree with her on so many of things she said.
To be able to make the needed deduction from the below video, you must be smart—and if you are not, just don’t bother because this may be too complex for your understanding…
Maybe as it has always been upheld by certain people, it’s time black people begin to look closer at the Bible, the God it brought us—and ditch these two things else, we are no different from Uncle Tom, just as the video states…
Watch the video below and if you hold the Bible dear to your heart, then MAY BE you would know what to do when you see a white man—pay off.
Nigel Farage, leader of UKIP-a controversial political party in the UK has made statements at the European parliament saying; the West bore some ‘culpability’ for the recent Paris killings.
Farage made a direct connection between the West’s foreign policy of going to several wars in Muslim countries and the increasing mass immigration as having contributed to the Paris killings.
In his statement, Farage told MEPs that “We need an honest admission that actually our political decisions have led to much of what has happened. Just think about foreign policy – from Afghanistan through Iraq, through Libya and even the attempt to arm the rebels in Syria.
The awards ceremony for the world’s most popular sport took place tonight at the home of FIFA, Zurich; as heavyweights from all over the football world competed for top honours.
The biggest attraction, of course, was the race for FIFA World Player of the Year. Eternal rivals Messi and Ronaldo went head-to-head, and for the second time in two years the Portuguese was the one who stood tall at the end of proceedings.
It was the third such title for the brash Portuguese, leaving him only one behind his great rival Leo Messi.
The women’s footballer of the year award went to German legend Nadine Kessler, who plays for the female side of VFL Wolfsburg. Joachim Loew, who led Germany to her third world cup triumph, won the Best Coach of the Year award.
