Africans Never Seem to Learn | Amber Rose Reportedly Walked Out of D’Banj’s 10th Anniversary Celebration in Nigeria

Only an air-headed person fails to learn from his or her mistake—and it seems Africans have this trait, we never learn.

We continue to import US celebrities into our countries, pay them huge sums of money and respect for nothing and at the end, they trash us down by walking all over us—sometimes, they even fail to honour existing contracts.

Few years ago, Kim Kardashian was paid a reported amount of half a million dollars to host a concert organised in Nigeria—and after taking the cash, she stayed for just 30 minutes or so, leaving fans and patrons offended.

In Ghana, we’ve had several gross disrespect from these American celebrities with the recent being Chris Brown who decided to smoke marijuana on a Ghanaian concert stage, despite this being a criminal offence in Ghana. And he walked away as a FREE man while being defended by the organisers of this concert.

Amber Rose is famous for wrong reasons and to have this same person disrespect you is just pathetic. It’s just like being heavily slapped by a fool.

Nigerian music star-D’Banj decided to celebrate 10 years of being an active showbiz person with a party in Nigeria—and he went straight for Amber Rose, paying her a lot of money to come and grace the event.

I wouldn’t have a problem if someone in Nigeria pays Amber Rose to appear at the opening of his strip club—but celebrating achievements and hard work with Amber Rose being a forward runner sounds like an oxymoron. Yet, this is exactly what D’banj and his people did.

According to reports coming in from Nigeria, the undeserving to be present at the event-Amber Rose and her entourage pulled a fast one by walking out of the event when it became apparent that things were not properly organised.

Africans never seem to get anything well organised and on that, Amber had every right to walk off—since that was a complete waste of her time. But to be frank, even if the event was well organised, paying Amber Rose a huge amount of cash to appear at the event was a wrong move.  She does not deserve such honours and for some reason, we continue to bestow them on her all across Africa.

Maybe next time, we will organise our stuff well—and importantly, invite deserving industry persons to attend; paying Amber Rose to walk over us even if we are at fault is pretty stupid.

  1. I don’t understand why African artist and organisers cannot appreciate their own. How do these American singers, models, rappers and so on deserve our money when they do nothing for us. That’s like R2Bees paying Blac Chyna or someone to just sit there and look pretty, when they could just invite Fuse ODG. Sometimes I feel like they don’t know what to do with the money they have. And also please try to organise your events accordingly and be on schedule. Your making an impression on someone and you have to do everything as possible to put on a good show and not let these people create more stereotypes about us.

  3. And when our finest artist get nominated for BET awards, they receive the award backstage. We can’t even share the same stage with them. What is wrong with Africans?
