Though the villa which locals say is haunted by the curse of the Tutankhamun is deemed to be under some sort of curse because of its history, Striker Samuel Eto’o – who played for Chelsea and Everton before transferring to Sampdoria in northern Italy has fallen in love with it—and has splashed £18.5 million on it.

The villa which Eto’o has purchased is said to be “jinxed by the Curse of Tutankhamun because it was the former home of Lord Carnarvon who uncovered the Pharaoh’s tomb” reports MailOnline.

The 1,100sqm palazzo – Villa Altachiara – comes with 40 rooms and a swimming pool and is surrounded by 30,000sqm of parkland on the Tyrrhenian coast near the fishing village of Portofino.
