If you’ve not forgotten, some few years ago Ghanaian musician-Mzbel (real name Nana Ekua Amoah) was assaulted on stage at KNUST while performing—and at the time, reports said; without any “provocation and permission, a number of male students invaded the stage and in their frenzy without any provocation violently assaulted” Mzbel in a way best be described as sexual by all imagination.

Following the assault, Mzbel on Wednesday January 18, 2006 filed a suit at an Accra High Court  against KNUST as first defendant, the then Vice Chancellor as the second defendant and the college of Art as third defendant—demanding  ¢600 million at the time 60, 000 GHS today).

After the lawsuit, we did not hear about what happened again but during her sit down with Stacy Amoateng ‘Restoration With Stacy’, Mzbel disclosed that, she was paid 50,000GHS as compensation for the indecent assault.

So the interview was not all about her non-belief in Jesus Christ, a revelation which has become the talk on social media.

    • Are you really this stupid or are you a troll? I’d really like to know. To assert or imply that women who suffer sexual violence deserve it because of the way they choose to dress is ignorance and stupidity of the highest order. Men are not rabid animals. They can and should control their sexual urges regardless of their “triggers”. There are women who are sexually assaulted in the Middle East and Asia every day. Is that due to their burkas or their saris? Pray, do tell.

  2. Oh my gosh…why does she get paid that amount when thousands of young girls are even raped and most times they get nothing or peanuts. The justice system in Ghana is full of bullshh.
