Finally The Corruption Code Has Been Cracked in Ghana | Northern Regional Minister Says Churches And Society Forces Government Officials To Be Corrupt

The level of corruption we as ordinary Ghanaians have to deal with it every day is astounding, and whilst we’ve all been scrambling around trying to find out how we can solve this menace- the Northern Regional Minister seems to have stumbled upon the cure to all these governmental corruption.

Churches should stop expecting Ministers to make huge donations during service, and citizens should stop pestering them for help. So simple!

According to Alhaji Mohammed Muniru, the church is the biggest cause of corruption amongst government officials. Because people expect so much from them when fundraising and other activities are ongoing; they are forced to steal so they can meet these demands.

“You tell us that if you can afford Ghc 1,000, come for this prayer… so if I’m sitting there as a minister and I cannot afford, I will be ashamed so the next time, I will do all means to get money and that is why we have officials trying to steal money because they have to be respected in the church”

So all our problems that stem from the corruption suffocating this nation, can be easily avoided if we stop expecting ministers to make huge donations whenever they are in church. In that case, they would stop stealing because they do not have to meet those expectations again, and our nation can follow the path of development it was always meant to tread.

For a minster, no less, to attribute this as the main reason for corruption should tell you the level he’s thinking at. Truth be told they probably revel in the level of prestige those huge donations bring them, enables them to feel so superior to the rest of us.

The minister also mentioned that aside that, people always worry them for help, another cause for them siphoning money so they can always help; yeah, right.

The way the country is such a poor state, the little comfort people can get is knowing that those in charge are on top of things. When utterances like these are made, you realise there is actually no hope that we are getting out of this hole any time soon.

  1. Most of the government appointees are Muslims and not Christians so maybe they gave donations to the mosques. Secondly to make donations is not obligatory. He has a choice to decide what amount he could afford at these functions. The African politician and for that matter the Ghanaian Public servants are corrupt by nature. It’s a mentality that as soon as you get appointed, you are expected to loot and steal. It has nothing to do with churches please leave us out the mess. The churches in Ghana have built schools, universities, hospitals. They v provided clean water over the years.
