Ghana’s Shirley Frimpong Manso, Joselyn Dumas, Lydia Forson, Adjetey Anang and  Zynnell Zuh could not pick up a win…

  1. OH YAWA! There was one point the camera focused on Shirley’s face when the award swerved her… She looked menacing lol.
Anyway better luck next time. I felt Shirley was over-confident and conceited at a point because of all her previous awards. This is just a lesson to show her that other producers are just as “hungry” to excel and if u think u are the sh*t, you can be swerved easily just like wat we saw yesterday.

  2. The problem is Twi. All Ghanaian movies are just in Twi and it’s killing the industry. Ghana doesn’t have the population to grow an indigenous film industry to international standards. That’s common sense! Twi is affecting broadcasting standards, education standards, retarding the growth of Ghanaian music and comedy.
Reporters will tell you how difficult it is to get vox pops in good English. Sometimes I feel ashamed when watching Ghanaian news with Nigerian friends.
Now to this award, these Africa magic people are crazy. The Igbo film industry is not half as big as the Akan industry yet the recognised a nonexistent Igbo industry and ignored the Akan one. Well, Dstv makes several multiples of it’s Ghana revenue in Nigeria.
And if you want to disagree with me, first type in Twi, not English!

    • You’re not 100% right…how is the twi language (their own language) retarding them. Nigerian people don’t pronounce certain words right and even speak pidgin English so wouldn’t they be retarded too? They don’t have to speak English they can use whatever language they want. Indian people speak their language in their movies and Chinese people speak their language in their movies but still they go far. If it was such a bad thing then how come local actors get paid more than English speaking actors and produce more movies? If you’re ashamed then don’t speak twi and then learn how to speak igbo or yoruba. Even the English speaking actors are not international.

  4. How come nobody complained when Shirley and Kenyan Movie won everything last year? People should watch the movie Oct 1 and you will understand. Very high budget movie supported by Lagos Government telling the Nigerian Story. Obviously a marked improvement on their production. Nollywood being the third largest movie industry in the world is more likely to attract investors thus likely to have better produced movies. We should not be sore losers! Better luck next time!
