Angelina Jolie is not that old but she already has several health battles she has to forestall in her future.

The Oscar winning actress has already had a double mastectomy two years ago, and just last week she had to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.

According to New York Daily News, she learned she was at risk at ovarian cancer two weeks ago from a routine annual test that measures the CA-125 in her blood.

Being the disease that killed her mom Marcheline Bertrand, her doctor and herself felt the need to forestall the same fate for Jolie.

The procedure, ‘laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy’ removed those two organs. The point was to forestall any cancerous growth on there that could kill her in the future.

In an op-ed piece for the New York Times, Jolie wrote…

“I am now in menopause. I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical change. But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared”

Jolie and Pitt already have six kids, most adopted- so the kids thing should not really be a problem. It’s the health problems that would worry, and we hope this surgery has successfully forestalled whatever issue might be in her future.
