Honestly I didn’t even know this was a condition that’s possible, but apparently it is possible, just rare.

Baby Eli Thompson was born on March 4 in Alabama  to Brandi McGlathery. When the baby was handed to her, she realised he had no nose, according to ABC.

She informed the doctors, who immediately took steps to remedy it. He was fitted with a tracheostomy, a tube that will assist his breathing.

Aside the nose thing, Baby Eli has no other abnormalities. The doctor attending the case says his research shows only 38 other known cases of a baby born with no nose but perfectly healthy with no other abnormalities.

In another case, this time in the UK, a baby was born with no eyes, a condition known as Anophthalmia.

Anophthalmia is said to be incurable, so the baby would never be able to see. Maybe science would figure something out be the time she’s 30.

Danielle Davis, the baby’s mom, was told during pregnancy that there was a cyst on the baby’s brain. Doctors recommended termination, but she refused and went ahead to give birth.

Surgery would fit her with glass eyes, so she would look like a normal person with eyes; but she’ll never be able to see.

I feel like there are so many possible disorders we don’t even know about in this world. Wish both these families the best in dealing with these conditions.
