Moral fibre runs through every law made in this world. In every society, human behaviour and practices are legitimately regulated to protect and uphold maximum standards of decency and civility. Moral laws are needed to prescribe how people are expected to conduct themselves in public places so as to observe some level of disciple and social conformity.
Such laws may include laws against public indecencies, prostitution, nudity or obscenity, lewdness and so forth. The Criminal Code (Act 29/60) of Ghana has dedicated a portion of its content to treat offences against public morals. Read them below:
Soliciting For Immoral Purposes
Section 275 of the Criminal Code bans any person from persistently soliciting or importuning clients for prostitution or for any other immoral purposes.
Trading In Prostitution
Since prostitution is a criminal offence, anyone who either lives wholly or in part on the earnings of prostitution also offends the law. Similarly, if a person abets or aids a prostitute for the purposes of gains, that person is equally guilty of trading in prostitution.
For example, offering your apartment or part of it at a fee, for the purposes of prostitution presupposes that you are living off the earnings of prostitution. In this case, you are considered by law to be trading in prostituting.
Note: It is irrelevant whether the sexual offers were personally not given. What matters is for anyone to engage in any service that seeks to promote in full or part of the act of prostitution, as source of income.
This year a female director will open the Festival. La Tête haute, a film by Frenchwoman, Emmanuelle Bercot, will open the 68th edition of the Festival de Cannes on Wednesday 13 May.
La Tête haute tells the story of a juvenile delinquent, Malony, and his upbringing from childhood to adulthood, as a children’s judge and social worker try to save him. It was filmed in the Nord-Pas de Calais, Rhône-Alpes and Paris area regions, with the participation of Catherine Deneuve, Benoît Magimel, Sara Forestier and Rod Paradot, who plays the main character.
“The choice of this film may seem surprising, given the rules generally applied to the Festival de Cannes Opening Ceremony,” explains Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Event. “It is a clear reflection of our desire to see the Festival start with a different piece, which is both bold and moving. Emmanuelle Bercot’s film makes important statements about contemporary society, in keeping with modern cinema. It focusses on universal social issues, making it a perfect fit for the global audience at Cannes.”

I’m really not feeling too well and without any spiritual consultation, I attribute the sickness to the 2015 VGMAs—and I will let you know the reason later in my write-up.
The 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has already been reviewed by Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri in detail, mostly from the point of a broadcast viewer so I’m not going to bother you about what has been said already.
From his point of view as someone who watched it via the internet, he had several legitimate reservations. On the other hand, I’m going to delve into the entire convention-like event (lasting for about 9 hours for some of us) from the point of view of being present there.
Sound and Picture Quality
It’s a must for me to sympathize with all those who either watched it on television or via the internet. I can envisage how painful it will be to sacrifice your sleeping time for an award show, only to be slammed in the face with poor picture quality and bad sound.
I cannot admit for sure if the picture and sound qualities were that poor or not since I was in the auditorium experiencing the program live with my naked eyes.
For picture quality, I think my two eyes served the purpose of transmitting high resolution pictures to my brain so I do not have any issue with regards to the excellence of pictures.
I’m not a sound technician but what I will say is the sound I heard in the auditorium was okay. At some points in time, the bass frequency went up beyond normal, making it impossible to clearly hear the songs been played though.
Rumours of P-Square going to be break-up is nothing new, they keep coming and going—but this time, it is backed by disrespectful action from one of the halves-Paul Okoye.
Paul Okoye took to social media in a series of posting to list the various works of P-Square (mostly hit songs) that he masterminded alone—claiming all the glory and making it seem like, without him, P-Sqaure would not have been this successful.
What would push Paul Okoye who is a twin of Peter Okoye to expose all the works fans assume were collectively done as his hard work alone—if it’s not a possible break-up?
Whatever it is, taking to social media to list things and claim glory for them all as though the other person is pretty useless when it comes to the success of P-Square is not only childish but also disrespectful.

According to several people on Facebook and Twitter, the winner of the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ Artiste of the Year award-Stonebwoy played politics during his acceptance speech when he ‘deliberately’ refused to mention Sarkodie’s name or thank him, for featuring on his Baafira hit song—which arguably won him all the awards.
It just have been something he forgot to do but considering Sarkodie’s position with Charter House, the organizers of the award—many social media commenters think it was not a mere coincidence that Stonebwoy forgot his key artiste’s name.
