THE BIG QUESTION: Must An African Woman Shave or Wax Her Legs & Arms?

Black woman
Black woman

Naturally, I am not a hairy person and as such I have never had to wax or shave my legs or arms. And I have not also thought about waxing or shaving the visible part of the body in relation to African women.

In Europe, both white men and women continue to wax their legs and arms but over the weekend, a conversation with my friends at a dinner got me thinking about what my African sisters do.

Next to our table, two loud hungry Ghanaian women took refuge and one of these women had hairy legs and arms.

I noticed it but considered it to be normal because back home, many of friends have such hairy features—legs, arms and sometimes chin.

Pregnant Muslim Widow To Be Given 100 Lashes For Sleeping With Another Man: In Ghana!

WTF
WTF

You would think these cases of extreme misogyny towards women was reserved for the Gulf States practicing Islamic Sharia, but this is a case in our own dear nation Ghana.

Starrfmonline tells of a 23 year old Muslim widow in Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region, who is set to be flogged because she has been found to be pregnant whilst observing the Islamic widowhood rites.

The rites, known as Iddah, require the adherent to refrain from sex during the period. However, her pregnancy is a sure indicator she wasn’t abstaining, and this has angered Muslim leaders in the area.

“The law says that if something of such nature happens and they are not married, they should be given 100 lashes.

“If they are married, then they have to be executed. In this case, the boy is not married but the girl is still in the room of her husband so the law has to take effect on her.

My Heart Bleeds for Africa | About 1000 African Migrants Have Died in the Mediterranean & The Question is; What Are They Running Away From?

African Migrants
African Migrants

Yesterday, nearly about 1,000 African migrants died in three separate boat disasters on the Mediterranean—all trying to escape whatever it is that s hunting them in Africa, to Europe, the continent of prosperity, peace and human rights.

Of course Europe is no heaven, but compared to Africa; it’s heaven on earth—and if you think I am lying, why do you think Africans continue to risk their lives each day, in an attempt to run from our own continent to Europe?

There is something wrong with our continent and the earlier we fix it, the better. From our political structures to economic machines, there seems to be nothing worth living for in Africa.

Surely, the above explains why more than 900 African migrants perished yesterday when a fishing boat capsized off Libya  in one of the worst maritime tragedies since the Second World War.

According to survivors, “up to 300 people including women and children ‘drowned like rats in cages’ after being locked in the hold by callous traffickers.”

And this is where our European godfathers have to come in to protect us from killing ourselves. Malta’s Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has called on the “European Union to resume rescue operations and address the chaos in Libya which allows smugglers – who charge migrants thousands of pounds for the passage to Europe – to operate with impunity.”

READERS’ MAIL: Menaye Donkor Only Rushed & Accepted to Get Pregnant Because Sulley Muntari Was About to LEAVE Her Selfish Butt?

Menaye Donkor
Menaye Donkor

Dear Chris,

I have seen you and your readers sing praises for Menaye Donkor for finally getting pregnant after God knows how many years of being with Sulley who has always wanted a baby since day one.

Let me tell you people  what happened, which is not how you people are viewing things. I am happy for Sulley Muntari that the woman he spent money to marry has now come home with her senses.

From what I know, Menaye Donkor was being selfish in the marriage. She wanted to pursue a career in acting even though she cannot act to save her life. She started taking acting classes with the hope to be the next Nadia Buari in Ghana’s movie industry.

By now, we should all know Menaye Donkor for her want of fame.  If not for her fame desperation, what does she do to always be in the news or parading herself as a celebrity? Think deep.
