This guy sounds like he has some serious persuasive skills, but like all crooks he’s channeling it in the wrong way to make quick money, instead of using it for some honest work.

Sigismond Segbefia was arrested by the FBI and charged with multiple counts of fraud, for duping a South Korean steel company of $375,000 with the promise of getting Pharell Williams to play a concert for them.

Via the NY Post, Segbefia had a company, Eastern Stars LLC, which he used to give rings of legitimacy to his claims. He told the South Korean firm, Dosko Co. Ltd, his company was the legal representative of Pharell. He wired them a contract and an invoice, as well as fake documents, emails, and the names of Pharell’s real management team.

They wired him the $375,000, of which he withdrew $113,000 before the South Koreans got suspicious and recalled the transfer.

He also scammed women he met on dating sites of more than $445,000, using the stolen identity of a postal worker. Another woman lost $185,000 in a separate scam he ran on her.

He’s been charged with wire fraud, bank fraud, and identity theft, and was released on bail but has been placed under house arrest pending his next court date on May 14.
