READERS’ MAIL: I Didn’t Know John Dumelo Was Such A DoucheBag

John Dumelo
John Dumelo

Dear Chris-Vincent,

First of all, let me commend and congratulate you on the success of your blog, GhanaCelebrities.Com. I have been an ardent reader for over 4 years so I can say to some extent I bear witness to your hard and the bluntness this blog lives for.

It’s against the above background that I have decided to write this mail for publication, hoping to point it out to your many readers how much of a douche bag Ghanaian actor-John Dumelo is, made clear by his recent comment on the current unbearable ‘dumsor dumsor’ in Ghana.

Let me ask, John Dumelo seems to present himself as a business man but can he point us to any of his so called businesses and tell us how the business is fairing on the back of ‘dumsor dumsor’?

No serious businessman will entertain ‘dumsor dumsor’ for even a minute yet this empty head comes on radio to say we should give the sitting government more time to fix the problem and that “Rome was not built in a day.”

Yes “Rome was not built in a day” but is 3 years out of 4 years tenure a day? If you cannot use 3 years to fix a problem, don’t make it worse for us and don’t come and be telling us nonsense.

My husband’s blocks’ factory business which used to be opened 7 days a week now runs on luck. And if we are lucky, we get to open it twice a week. We tried a generator which was not cost effective because it cost more to produce one block on generator than selling two of the same blocks when finished.

An incompetence government is in charge of our country, businesses are rapidly shutting down and our national currency has almost become worthless against the dollar and the pounds—and you have someone who claims to be an entrepreneur and celebrity boldly saying Ghanaians should not pressure the president to fix the current power crisis. Rather, we should give him more time. What does he mean by more time? Since 3 years is not enough of time for John Dumelo’s NDC led-government to fix the problem, surely the remaining 1 year will not be enough.

So in effect, John Dumelo is asking for another 4 years to be given to President Mahama and his cronies so that they can fix the ‘dumsor dumsor’ problem…right? By that time, all businesses including that of my husband would have collapsed.

Is it not a shame that established radio stations like JOY FM recently announced that they will close down transmission from mid-night each day because of the power crisis? Now, think about the small scale businesses who cannot afford gallons of fuel or generators.

To be frank, my respect for John Dumelo has totally gone with the wind and instead of tagging himself as a businessman or entrepreneur (obviously he isn’t because no businessman will entertain such a comment on dusmsor), he should go out there and learn how not to support incompetence.

Of course, it’s money and tribe talking through John Dumelo’s mouth.  If you have educated celebrities like him making such statements founded on either what has been put in his pocket by the NDC or the fact that he is Ewe, then we have a serious problem as a country.

I respect people’s tribes and political affiliations but what I cannot stand is corruption and incompetence, perpetuated by sheer greed.

Can John Dumelo tell us how much he was paid by the NDC during the campaign period and how much he has also be given to go out there to make such a brainless statement on ‘dumsor dumsor’?

He’s such a douche bag and please let him know that, he cannot even act. So he is not only a bad actor in movies, he is also no business man and obviously has no sense to comment on national issues.

  1. True talk this guy is too stupid to say what he said. You said it right; he cannot act too. I always ask what is the hype about this dude since he can’t really act and he is not that cute. I guess each and his own

  2. As for you, you even had respect for him. I had No respect for him, so now it’s down to -10. Look at his pot belly! Who said John was cute?

  3. John is nothing but a fraud which has come to light all these years with how he swindled cash from that Australia and his attempt to get a US green paper by marrying that other woman. Now he sees money in politics so he is there talking nonsense

  4. This guy is such an opportunist, looking for every avenue to amass wealth. He is as irresponsible as his words because if he was a responsible man, he would have settled down to start a family now like his good friend Majid. Mtchew

      • Yes, I support what John said. Ghanaians should exercise patience and give the President some time to fix the dumsor. If the President’s before him had fixed it we wouldn’t be talking about it now.

        • Are you for real? how long is sometime that you think Mahama should be given? Is 3 years not enough time? So people should keep patience and have their business close and keep sleeping in the dark? The president before him did not fix it you say but did they make it this worse?

          • Rawlings ruled Ghana for almost 20 year’s. JAK ruled for 8 years. JEA Mills ruled for over four years. And JDM is only there for 3 years and everyone wants him to find quick solution to it? That’s not fair.

          • C’mon! Am not sure if u really know how GH is these days as compared to the days of JJ, JAK & Mills. massa things are rough paaao. If u havent been to GH in the last 3yrs just ask those back home that u know. I believe they will tell u. 8 out of 10 ppl will tell u they are not happy.

          • Tell him my dear, a 1000dollars will only last you for 2 weeks if you visit. The place has turned into a real jungle. This guy needs another woman or anas to silence him like they did. I don’t blame him because we all know how he makes his so called money, if not for these desperados abroad.

          • The truth is that, I don’t get directly affected by the dumsor. So I perfectly understand the frustration of Ghanaians. I believe Mahama can do better, and he must do better.

          • Hmmmmm . Am short of words for u. It hurts went pple do not want to see the truth and choose propaganda becos of their bread is buttered on the other side. God is watching from a distance

          • Lol…. sexy, I am not a propagandist. FYI, NDC DOES NOT butter my bread. In fact, I don’t like both NDC and NPP. Those two political parties are the cause of all Ghana’s problems.

        • lol Kwekuuuuuuuuu not this one too. Must you support every Idiot who calls themselves a celebrity? comeon Mahama was doing everything around Mill’s time and what did we get? None but severe hardship and now that he’s in power what else should we expect? If not for bad to worse plus the daily Dumsor. Dude i know you can do better than this. John dumelo is such a fool who has refused to admit the fact that his NDC candidate is destroying our beloved Ghana. I’ve been visiting Ghana since 2001 and will swore on this that our ex Prez kuffour is the best thing that ever happened to our motherland. John is just being a fool using his tribal party to support his womanizer colleague Mahama. Kweku i dare you to go to Ghana for just 2 months with 20000usd and let me know the results. Someone like Dumelo should just keep quiet and mind his business because he’s not any different from this wannabe president mtcheww.

          • You dare me to go to Ghana for just two months with $20,000? I think that’s too much. I can survive in Ghana for two months with $3000. Hope you’re doing good. Enjoy your day!!

          • whatttttttt 3000 wont do shyt. I went on xmas for only a month and my 2000usd was left with 20ghc. Kweku Ghana is on a different level now. Juicenet is right the place is burning like the hell fire. I think Mahama needs to retire else from now till next dec would be a week or month dumsor. He is the worst thing we ever had trust me. I am not an Npp fan but Kuffour led the nation well after Jerry John Rawlings. I believe Nana would continue from where the two leaders left off.

  5. Those are very harsh words but I see where te frustration is coming from. No ‘normal’ businessman can live with this. Recently blue skies threatened to cut down staff by taking away 1000 jobs because of dumsor so I agree its only a politicall- blinded or money-enticed individual who will use kind words on this incompetent government. Even as a Ghanaian who isnt a business person I literally want to pull my skin off when we go off for eternity.Well I don’t agree he’s not a good actor but he’s not an ‘out of this world’ actor too..lol..it must be more frustrating for you and your family. Tell Ghanaians to vote with their brains next time.
I remember telling my friends the barges the President said hell bring in was another of his potomanto of lies and it has been confirmed.

  8. Ok, after reading this mail, it brings me to the issue of DEMOCRACY…i can see all the ppl commenting are either NPP or whatever…i had a chance to listen to what John said, and quite frankly, i don’t get all these insults…i am a proud NDC and I also don’t like what is currently happening in the country…I experienced dumsor throughout my visit in ghana the last time I was there…in fact I was appealed to the fact that, I wished mahama would be impeached. Even prez rawlings has commented on how incompetent this government is. But you can’t fault ppl for speaking their minds…this is a democratic country and he has every right to comment on how he feels. if he still decide to support ndc come 2016, must he be insulted…how can u insult someones believe and think whatever it is that you’re supporting is perfect. Dumber was never resolved during chauffeur’s regime…so what are we talking abt…the writer said that, she respects the pal’s tribe and political affiliation but then insulted the man that its money and tribe talking through him…who does that…its unnecessary and uncalled for…and if u care to know, there are ewes in every political party so let’s not tribalism everything…clearly, it doesn’t look like we can impeach mahatma, so what JD is saying is that if by 2016 this issue is unresolved, we will know what to do next…clearly JM will not be voted in again…its sad that pal’s affiliation to political parties can destroy their business, like for what…that’s petty…in ghana, all we know is insults, instead of respecting pal’s opinion whether you agree or not….i support any political party that comes to remove JM cuz I do agree that he SUCKS…

FYI, please JD can sooooooooo act…pls stop the hating….#just saying….#thanks…

    • Hey i am also a strong NDC candidate, but we have to call a spade a spade. The Ndc is strongly out of shape but John in his interview failed to address the hardship and has the guts to use the rome quote. If rome weren’t built in a day, why did he came out to request for his solar panel? We all thought John would live with his generator noise until rome is built. He talks too much the only thing he could have done was to address this issue to the president but he’s here talking of second chance smh. Thank God you experienced the dumsor dumsor like the way i did. To John he’s protecting his clan but to me am protecting my nation and would insult our current government any day and anytime if they fail. NDC must go period. In a way i agree with you but on John’s part he should stop changing his words every day on this issue. If all our party members would support us to vote this imbecile out, then i believe there would be a better Ghana after 2016. Peace.

  9. Yes i understand how every one feel about this current dumsor situation in Ghana.Life has been very difficult for majority of the people out there. But do you guys really think insult and disrespecting people on social media is the solution to our dumsor problems?.I don’t live in Ghana but reading such things outside makes me feel we don’t really know what social media is about?.
Mame Serwa,I’m very disappointed in your comment about Dumelo being an Ewe.Do you really have to say something like that? will it solve the Dumsor problem and help your husband business’s to grow?.please let’s know be tribal about situations like this it’s not a good thing for mother Ghana. All of us cannot think the same, that’s why we have something called democracy. If you don’t accept comment from people please don’t be tribal about it.
Okay let’s talk about energy, every body is asking Mahama to solve dumsor, great idea since that’s all we are all patiently waiting for.But one question i want to ask is do you guys actually have any idea how this dumsor should be solve? do you guys know anything about the causes and the demands it’s need to be solve and how long it has to take? I think we have to be realistic and face the simple truth that dealing with situations like this for a nation is not something you can do for a short term.Give the government benefit of the doubt and be patient whiles he help solve this energy crises.I guess this is why Dumelo said Rome was not built in a day thanks to ya all I’m out.
