Hearts Of Oak Face Djoliba In Confederations Cup Game

The last remaining Ghanaian club in Africa, Hearts of Oak have come so close to making the group stage of this tournament for the first time in a decade.

For a club that originally not even supposed to play in this tournament, they have cobbled together an impressive run that they need to see through with advancement in Accra tomorrow.

Coming to town is Djoliba, the Malian side who lost the first leg 2-1 at home. Having a first leg away win to bring home is a fantastic situation, but Djoliba would prove a stern test that would require maximum effort from the Phobians to surmount.

They would have to do so without skipper Robin Gnagne- the impressive Ivorian suspended after a red card in the first leg. They have two further players with the U-20 side preparing for the world cup in New Zealand.

They still have the core of the side intact, with top scorer Fiamenyo and goalkeeper Sulaima set to make an appearance. The duo, with suspended skipper Gnagne, have been the most important players in the run so far

Their domestic form this season has been woeful, but Hearts continue to surprise in Africa. A good result tomorrow and they have the chance to keep this improbable run in motion for six more games.
