Hearts of Oak Marches On Despite Home Loss To Djoliba

Hearts of Oak

Ghana’s continental club masters braved a home loss to march on in this year’s CAF Confederations Cup.

Hearts lost 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium to Djoliba, but the first leg 2-1 away win left the game 2-2 on aggregate, the Ghanaians progressing on the away goals rule.

It was a depleted Hearts side that turned up for the clash with the Malians. Skipper Gnagne missed out through suspension, whilst Owusu Bempah and goalkeeper Seidu where on international duty.

Knowing they were leading and not at full strength, it was a very cautious Hearts team that met the Malians. Hearts employed a very Herbert Addo set up, holding their opponents and not giving much room for chances.

It worked for most of the game, but the determined Malians finally broke through the chink, defender Ndiaye striking in the 84th minute.

‘Leave John Dumelo Alone’ Writes GC Contributor Gabby Nash

John Dumelo
John Dumelo

I’m quite appalled by the way some commentators on the various news threads on social media and blogging platforms continue to demonstrate gross deficiency in their line of reasoning and the fact that their thinking faculty is fraught with prejudices.

Even in animal’s kingdom where vandalism and stupidity reflects animals’ mode of operations, some animals are ‘tolerant’ and liberal (figuratively). So why can’t some humans, who maraud as intellect exhibit broad-mindedness and rather resort to crude methods of addressing issues typical of barbarians?

John Dumelo, a renowned Ghanaian actor whose fame has outstretched beyond Ghana’s boundary called on Ghanaians to exercise restraints and rather support the incumbent government to solve the power crises christened as dumsor.

He made this comment devoid of any insult aimed at anyone. Yet, people have descended heavily on him, attacking his personality and brand. A person brandishing his/her comments is a right and furtherance to our young democracy yet verbal diarrhoea has characterize some people’s attitude without offering any clear initiative to remedy any problem.

Beyonce Signs Three Teenage Girls To Record Deal

Beyonce
Beyonce

Beyonce had a long path to get to where she is today, including a stint in Destiny’s Child before her breakout as a solo artist. Being the strong, independent feminist that she is, it’s not surprising she’s trying to set out a similar path for similarly talented ladies.

The lovely Mrs Carter is asking a Manhattan judge to approve contracts she has signed with three up and coming singers. According to Page Six, all three are minors, necessitating the need for legal ratification.

They are being signed to Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment Company. All three have a level of public fame already despite their young ages.

Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is Stinking Rich But Know that He Says He Will Never Donate to Africa & We Think He is Damn RIGHT

Money-Mayweather

Even before last night’s big fight, Floyd Mayweather was worth over 200 million dollars—and according to reports, he will make over 400 million dollars extra in revenue from the fight which saw him beat Pacquiao in what many have described as the biggest fight of our young century.

Pacquiao also went home with millions and somehow, some Africans think rich people in the world owe them the duty to hand out—with many saying on social media that, Mayweather needs to start giving out to charities, especially those in Africa.

Over the years, the boxer has maintained that, he will never give his money to an African charity—and since he works hard for his money, he should be free to spend it however he wants.

Floyd Mayweather in a radio interview last year told Kelly Mac that he has a “good heart,” but he does not feel obliged to give to charities, specifically in Africa.

He said; “[People] say well, he got all this money, why is he not giving to Africa. Well, what has Africa given to us? What has Africa come and give to my children and to my family? Things work two way”.

He continued; “Everybody’s always talking about giving, giving, giving. That’s the problem. Everybody’s doing so much giving, at the end of the day, they may not have nothing. Then they’ll say ‘why was he giving this to that person, and giving this to that person when he should have been saving?”

Mayweather was candid about why he got into boxing and stated he never got involved into boxing to give money away. He said I never got into boxing because “I’m going to fight and make hundreds of millions of dollars and just give it all away.’ If I’m gonna mess money off in a bad way, I’m going to spend it on myself. I’m going to do what I want to do with my money. You hear people talking about, ‘well, he should…donate to this or donate to that.’ No, I should donate to Floyd Mayweather, donate to Floyd Mayweather’s family. Because that’s what it’s about.”

Mayweather Vrs Pacquiao: Mayweather Keeps Pacquiao At Bay To Pick Up Unanimous Points Victory

Mayweather Vrs Pacquiao

It was billed as the ‘fight of the century’, hyped to the skies, and featured the two best boxers of this generation- yet Mayweather-Pacquiao turned into a disappointment for the myriad of fans who witnessed the bout.

It was always going to be this way. Floyd is perhaps the best defensive fighter ever; but fans went in expecting an explosive slugfest anyway. What they got instead was a master class in defensive and counter attacking boxing from Floyd.

The undefeated American picked up the unanimous points victory, the judges scoring it 118-110, 116-112, 116-112 for Mayweaher, who improved his record to 48 wins with no losses.

Manny Pacquiao thought he had won the fight, as did most of his fans. He was the aggressor throughout, trying to make a fight of it whilst Mayweather danced around.

“It’s a good fight, I thought I won. He didn’t do nothing, just moved outside” Pacquiao said after the bout.

In reality Mayweather did plenty. Obviously aware of the power and ferocity of Pacquiao, he moved around fluidly, never directly engaging the Filipino. His high shoulder defence useless against Pacquiao’s southpaw stance, he used his right jab frequently as a means of maintaining distance.

Mayweather Beats Pacquiao to Prove that There is NO GOD | So Get On With Your Life…

Mayweather and Pacman
Mayweather and Pacman

So before the Mayweather and ‘Pacman’ fight, many social media users went about saying because Pacman is a Christian and kept mentioning God, the Lord should be with him and he will definitely win.

Now, once again God has lost huh? What is wrong with human beings and how many times would credulous people have to know that, there is no God up here and even if there is, he is not interested in sports such as two men fighting for money and entertainment?

Some labelled the fight David and Goliath—and now that David has lost, they are saying David was cheated.

I didn’t know God can be cheated. The almighty can be outsmart-ed by common men? What a wow!

Why must we bring God in everything even when it’s not necessary and sadly, God always disappoints us; he fails to show his face in the obvious way we call on him.
