VIDEO: President Mahama is a BIG LIAR…Watch President Mahama Promise to End ‘Dumsor’ in 2013: The Lack Of Accountability In This Country Is Stunning

President Mahama

Recently, Ghanaians found out the hugely anticipated power barges that were promised by this government would arrive by the end of April were actually still under construction.

I took a little time in that article to direct a few words of ire towards this government of John Mahama and his cronies. Government’s in the past have made promises and failed to keep them, it’s something that comes with the territory; but no government has made so many promises and glossed over their failure to fulfil them as apathetically as this government.

Especially in regards to ‘dumsor’. Besides the power barges, there has been many numerous promises of this sort. Surprisingly, they all pass, nothing happens, and Ghanaians continue like nothing ever happened in the first place.

Because this power crisis has been with us for a while, 3 years and counting, this cycle of almost pathological lying must have been with us for a while as well. And actually, it has. As the video at the end of this article proves, President Mahama promised, categorically, that dumsor would be a thing of the past by 2013.

Muslim Youth Demands that Chief Imam’s House Should Be Exempted From ‘Dumsor’ | ‘All Animals Are Equal But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others’

Chief Imam
Chief Imam

This demand brings into mind George Orwell’s Animal Farm, particular the quote that “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Is this the way we intend to tackle the current power crisis? By seeking to have certain people we deem important to us—either by religious or political affiliation exempted from the ‘dumsor’?

I pretty much do not know how this can be achieved but what I find absurd is the idea that a group of people, being Muslim youth will come up with such a demand.

Soon, the church members of Bishop Obinim’s church will also demand that their pastor’s residence and offices should be exempted—and then we would have many of such pockets of associations making equal demands.

The idea to have the Chief Imam’s house exempted from ‘Dumsor’ is fantastic—at best, it will help the dumsor end…right?

Gunmen Attack Controversial Art Exhibit Showcasing Images Of The Holy Prophet ‘Mohammed’

Gunmen shot dead
Gunmen shot dead

For some reason the religion Islam is set up to oppose any value that advocates freedom of the individual and a society.

The laws under Sharia are oppressive, limiting the personal freedoms of people, especially women. The issues this religion has with free speech are so documented it seems redundant to go into it again.

Two gunmen over the weekend shot up an art competition featuring images of Mohammed. The two turned up at the Curtis Culwell Centre in Garland, Dallas, where the contest was taking place, and opened fire.

According to NY Daily News, they injured a security officer, but got killed moments later in a brief fire fight with Garland PD.

Bizarre conspiracy theories often pop up about most issues involving celebrities around the world. This might be the most bizarre I’ve ever heard.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed the second royal baby over the weekend, a baby girl.

Whilst most of Britain continues to rejoice, and the rest of the world shrugs and wonders what all the fuss is about, a newspaper in Russia is kicking up a storm with some a very weird conspiracy theory.

KKD Says SCREW Rape Allegation As He Says ‘My Brand As An Iconic Entertainment Personality Is Intact’ & Sort of Compares Himself to Christ that Jesus Was Even Accused Severally

Kwesi Kyei Darkwah
Kwesi Kyei Darkwah

Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) says he is not on any high horse and that his ‘Brand as an iconic Entertainment Personality is intact’ despite the rape allegation which was brought against him. He doesn’t even seem to take not of the moral consequence of his action—-a 50 year old man meeting a girl of 19 year old and within few hours, having sex with this girl unprotected in a hotel bathroom…

For KKD, the cry of the sex not being consensual by the victim is pure nonsense and the State’s inability to prosecute vindicates him, so; he has not really done anything morally, religious or legally wrong—at least so we get. And as such, no damage has been caused to his brand, he is confident about that.

At KKD’s thanksgiving service held on Sunday at The Christ Foundation Family Church in Sukumono, the once alleged rapist who was joined by family told JOY News after the service that.

“People hoped that I will die; some people hoped that I will fail, 30 years ago. Do I have to go their homes to change their minds”?

#DumsorMustStop Has Become A Cheap Social Media Campaign Being Championed By Celebrities Comfortably From their Bedrooms | Get Out There & Mount Unending Protests

Yvonne Nelson
Yvonne Nelson

First of all, let me commend Yvonne Nelson for starting the hashtag #DumsorMustStop on social media. Every celebrity who has used it so far has advanced the cause. It took them really long to realize this was needed but at least it’s here—and it has been done.

Now, let’s dig into social media campaigns and why they are so important but useless and pretty ineffective, especially when you are dealing with governments like that of Ghana, led by a dead goat.

All over the world, so many campaigns have started on social media with specific hashtags or have been brought to social media to create further awareness and pull in the crowd. Such hashtags are particularly great at getting the attention of the big media brands—and we’ve already seen the BBC World Service having picked up on Yvonne Nelson’s #DumsorMustStop.

However, the truth remains that, running a hashtag from the comfort of your bedroom or watching a generator powered TV while tweeting is easy and everyone can do that—some even tweet while on the toilet. It’s pretty cheap and cheap methods achieve nothing substantial.

If indeed the so many celebrities who have jumped on the bandwagon are serious about making sure that Dumsor stops within the shortest possible time, the pressure to be mounted on the government must be proportionate to the damage this power crisis is causing. Social media campaigns alone do not have the needed force for this. It’s good for pulling in the crowd but even that, considering the low number of Ghanaians connected to the internet, this tool wouldn’t be at its best in pulling people.
