Manny Pacquiao Hit With Class Action Suit By Disgruntled Fans

Manny ‘PacMan’ Pacquiao
Manny ‘PacMan’ Pacquiao

With the hits both boxers are facing, looks like the aftermath of the fight of the century is a lot more than exciting than the fight itself.

Pacquiao is already in trouble with athletics officials for failing to disclose his injury before the fight, whilst Mayweather is being sued for $20m. In another piece of trouble for the Pacman, two fans are taking him to court in a potential class action suit.

The two fans, Staphane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran, have filed papers in US District Court in Nevada alleging consumer fraud. According to New York Daily News, they are seeking a class action on behalf of “potentially hundreds of thousands of ticket purchasers and persons who wagered on the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight…which were victimised by defendants failure to disclose and to cover up the injuries of defendant Pacquiao”

EX-Ghana Actors Guild President Slams #DumsorMustStop Campaign By Yvonne Nelson | He Says It’s Unnecessary & President Mahama Did Not Create Dumsor

Nii Odoi

Despite the unbearable hardship Ghanaians are going through because of the current power crisis dubbed-Dumsor, which has pushed Yvonne Nelson and several other celebrities to kick-start a social media campaign #DumsorMustStop—former president of the Ghana Actors Guild-Nii Odoi Mensah has come out to say the whole campaign is WRONG and unnecessary…

Mr. Nii Odoi Mensah in an interview with Starr Fm said; ‘though the celebrities have the right to hold the [upcoming #DumsorMustStop] vigil, it is “unnecessary” in his opinion.’

Mr. Odoi Mensah told Starr Entertainment “that the young members of the guild should have sought advice before starting the campaign. He believes President Mahama is making frantic efforts to bring Ghana back to full illumination”.

He added; “in a society where the young will not seek advice from the elderly, then you know we have a problem.”

“Seriously my sister do you think the present government is happy with the situation in which we are? Or, when his Excellency the president came into power, do you think he went to Akosombo to [shut] the dam off, so that we stay in darkness? Or can’t we understand that there is a problem and somebody must fix it and that we all have to help that person to fix it?” he wondered.

He continued; “Ghanaians must learn to be patient in life. You don’t get things on a silver platter. No condition is permanent. The man said he is trying his best to solve the problem, let’s help him solve it!

It’s Just Not Ghana | It Seems the Entire Africa Continent is SICK With the Same Crop of Leaders across Board

Africa Problems
Africa Problems

There are several problems with individual African countries and I wouldn’t deny every country in the world has it own problems, including the mighty United States and China—but when a set of problems repeat themselves across an entire continent, then there is something wrong with the people or the leaders…

I have traveled extensively across Europe and though these countries that make up the beautiful continent have their own problems, I cannot point out a single problem which is so bad and yet runs through it all.

The level of development in each of the Western European countries is different but I tell you, the basic infrastructure is consistent. Travel from UK into Holland and you will surely feel you are out of Britain, because the difference in architecture is so obvious. And you would also notice the difference in the ‘race of development’ but the basics; water, electricity, hospitals, schools, good transport systems and cleanliness will be available.

Take a jump into Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany and despite the disparity in their development, you wouldn’t find the basic ingredients which give life a good start for people missing anywhere—more importantly, power will be there for those hard working citizens to make the best of their lives.

My friend who recently traveled across Burkina Faso into Guinea told me a shocking tale of encounter over dinner last week—he said; ‘in some of the places, it was like I had been time-traveled to 551BC. Conditions were so bad and the basic things needed for life to grow were literally missing.’

Money Mayweather Sued By His Ex For Lying About 2010 Domestic Violence Incident

Mayweather
Mayweather

Mayweather might be a genius in the ring, but outside of it he’s a very terrible person. He’s been convicted in the past of domestic abuse, including one incident with Josie Harris, mother of 3 of his children.

That incident is the subject of this lawsuit being brought by Josie. In the run-up to his mega fight with Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather said in an interview that Josie was in a drug fuelled rage, and that he had to restrain her.

Who Is Hip Hop’s Wealthiest Artiste For 2015?

Diddy
Diddy

There are very few hip hop artistes who get to the top of the list. Because aside your music you need to be an astute businessman to send your earnings into the level required to get to the top.

So very often you find the same names inhabiting this list. And so it was, as Forbes released their list of Hip Hop’s five wealthiest artistes for the year.

Dre made a windfall when he sold Beats to ‘Apple’, but somehow, he failed to wrestle the title from the king. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is that man, worth approximately $735m. Everyone knows Diddy is a whack rapper, but his numerous business ventures put him at the top.

Leila Djansi Asks KKD to SHUT UP + Are there Real Feminists in Ghana?

Leila Djansi
Leila Djansi

I used the word REAL in front of feminists to segregate women talkers from those who understand and advocate for what it takes to be a woman in a proper discourse…

I am currently writing a very long academic essay on feminism perspective on international human rights law and some of the feminists arguments are not only touching, they effectively highlight the deficiency of the law in taking into account the experiences of women, especially in cases of rape.

Women have been long marginalised by the law and society which are modelled on the concept of male dominance and they continue to suffer under this framework as the current societal structures as well as the legal framework do not really mirror their experiences. This is worse in Africa—the KKD’s rape case and the aftermath which has been full of insensitive talks in the face of the troubles of the victim clearly demonstrates this.

Women are still treated more like “things” than people, made effectively possible by even the law. As Catharine MacKinnon puts it in relation to rape in her book ‘Are Women Human and Other International Dialogues’; “the fact that the law of rape protects rapists and is written from their point of view to guarantee impunity for most rapes is officially regarded as a violation of the law of sex equality, national or international, by virtually nobody.”

Beyond that, the way society especially in our part of the world treats rape victims is extensively pathetic. KKD and his family have been talking loosely and no one in high authority dare asks them to shut up—after all, he is a man and whoever he allegedly raped is just a ‘thing’.

Apart from the talks, he has started glamorously appearing at events as though he has just won a boxing match—his victim and her experience, no one seems to care about.
