There are many reasons why anyone would not like religion. However, more than any other reason, the intolerance it breeds is the most sickening one.
This intolerance, honed by centuries of indoctrination and sanctioned by ‘Holy Books’, is why someone would blow up people of other religions, or use force on people whose world view does not align with theirs.
A good example of this intolerance is that exhibited by this Nebraska woman, 66 year old Sylvia Ann Driskell. She has filed a suit in the US District Court of Omaha, claiming to be an ambassador for the plaintiffs, God and his son Jesus Christ.
In the suit, officially entered as ‘Driskell vs homosexuals’; she is suing all homosexuals for breaking ‘religious and moral laws’.
In a rambling, handwritten seven page petition, Driskell quotes Bible passages to show homosexuality is a sin, and claims that homosexuals know they are living in sin.
“Homosexuality is a sin and they the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in the closet?
You would think at this point people would have wised up to the machinations of some of these so-called men of God. But we love refusing to think, especially when religion is involved.
A Lagos man is in dire financial straits after his pastor made away with N10m he gave to him for prayers. The man went for a bank loan to start a business but through some very elaborate scheming his pastor was able to swindle him out of it.
PM News reports that Lagos police have declared Timothy Gabriel, a preacher from Lagos, a wanted man. He is wanted for allegedly swindling one of his church members out of N10m.
The member is said to have told his pastor that he intended to go for a bank loan for some business deals. The pastor prayed for him to be successful in getting the loan, and he managed to get it.
This is not even funny—some Ghanaians are really backwards, it is as if they just picked them from the Paleolithic age and dropped in our century.
An anonymous caller blew Yvonne Nelson’s cell phone to blast her, calling her Ashawo (prostitute)—and the actress posted a video of what happened on instagram.
The caller used the number; 0307095195 and proudly kept calling the actress Ashawo as though he was her customer. This is obviously because of the #DumsorMustStop campaign which the actress and a few others are championing.
Many have seen the campaign which is a call for the incumbent government to fix the current energy crisis as an attack on the Mahama-led NDC government—so it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say the caller is an NDC sympathizer.
Politics in Ghana is pretty unintelligent and that is why most intelligent and noble people stay away from it—for me, if you can, just find some cool country and jump out there because our people are just too much to deal with.
How can you get someone like the one in the call below to reason?
As Mother’s day draws nearer, we often think of ways to celebrate our very special mothers who brought us unto this earth and nurtured us into whatever we have become today. Time Magazine decided on a very interesting idea for this year’s celebration. Instead of asking celebrities to celebrate their moms, they are asking celebrity … Read more
In Africa, people cannot separate politics from national issues and this has been evident in the sort comments the various NDC celebrities have been making in the last few days in relation to the current power crisis-Dumsor.
If you considered John Dumelo’s statement unforgiving , then I am sure you wouldn’t take it light with Ghanaian struggling comedian-David Oscar who blames Ghanaians for causing dumsor themselves—and says, he would be a hypocrite to join the #DumsorMustStop campaign.
The comedian who is not anyway funny took to his facebook to call those preparing to stage a #DumsorMustStop vigil a hypocrite by saying;
The fact remains that, Africans are greedy and when they know you have some money coming through, until they milk you dry, they wouldn’t consider anything you give to them as enough.
