The once revered Cosby has become something of an object of ridicule, with over 30 women having come forward to accuse the legendary comic of rape.
Through it all he has maintained a stoic silence, refusing to directly address the allegations despite making tons of public appearances.
Until last week, that is; when he gave an interview to ABC’s Good Morning America. The 77 year old was asked about the allegations against him, and what he would say if a young person confronted him about them.
“I am prepared to tell this young person the truth about life.
I’m not sure that they will come like that. I think that many of them say, ‘Well, you’re a hypocrite, you say one thing, you say the other’
“My point is, ok, listen to me carefully. I’m telling you where the road is out. I’m telling you, where, as you’re driving, you’re going to go into water and it looks like it might only be three inches deep. But, you and your car are going to go down. Now, do you want to go here or do you want to be concerned about who’s giving you the message?”
Cosby has been battling these allegations for a while now, and a few weeks ago three new ladies came forward with their stories, bringing the total number of alleged victims to 38.
So people have been really waiting for him to give that public speech addressing it, and watching what he said you don’t really get the sense he addressed the issue.
