Ghana Black Satellites Tackle Argentina In Crunch World Cup Game

The national U-20 team returns to action in the ongoing FIFA World Youth Championships Tuesday morning when they tackle group favourites Argentina.

Ghana got off to a bad start, barely scraping a 1-1 draw against Austria, and the threat level goes up exponentially against the side that have always produced their greatest showing at this level of world football.

They didn’t get off to the best start themselves, being held 2-2 by Panama; but that’s what makes this game much more dangerous, as whoever loses would already have one foot out the door and on a flight back home.

The onus therefore, lies on the Satellites to take the game to their opponents. With the performance in the first game, a much needed improvement must be made or it would be farewell to Sellas and his boys.

One piece of good news is that Clifford Aboagye, one of this team’s top talents who missed the first game due to visa issues, is in New Zealand now and should start this time around. Other players who need to step up their game after poor showing against Austria include Godfred Donsah and captain Owusu Bempah.

In other Group B action, Panama take on Austria with either side having the chance to give themselves a leg up on qualification that prior to the tournament would have seemed improbable.

Ghana versus Argentina is set for early Tuesday morning in Ghana- 0700 GMT kick off time.
