My problem with such accounts is that, it makes the whole God/Jesus miracle thing a waste—because, why will Jesus together with his father sit in heaven and allow the flood or Goil blast to happen and then waste time to send angels or themselves down to pull out just this woman?
So what about the many that perished? God didn’t love them or were they sinners whom God wanted to punish by allowing them to die inhumanely?
I understand that when such a shocking event takes place, people may out of shock be unable to focus—and will mainly have little collection of what actually happened. That is the reasonable position to take…
However, to just come up with such a God/Jesus/Angel intervention story and make it seem like you are a special being and everyone who died did not matter is pretty much a blow below the belt. It actually makes God look like a joke, allowing about 200 people to die so that only you will be saved for his name to be gloried…
Good to believe that God came down somehow to save your butt. It’s time to get out there and start cleaning the gutters–else the next time it happens, God will be busy partying with His angels and He wouldn’t be able to send one down for you.
