Dr Onsy Nkrumah, a self proclaimed son of Ghana’s first president Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, has announced that he’s planning a run for the Ghana presidency in the next elections.

Onsy claims to be a long lost son of Ghana’s first president, and although he has been accepted by most of the Nkrumah family in the Western Region, his immediate children are having a tough time accepting his legitimacy.

Irrespective of that, the 58 year old has announced an intention to run for President in the upcoming election. According to him, the country’s politicians have failed the nation; and since he hasn’t found anyone suitable to back, he would be joining the race himself.

He spoke to Starrfmonline:

“I was looking for somebody to support but if I couldn’t find anybody to support; I may consider myself because this is too painful to watch and to endure.

“And I am tired of giving advice which people don’t even want to listen or hear. It appears there is immunity or indifference and politicians are just playing with words and pretending.

“They are just lying through their teeth and they are clueless as well. I have given them the benefit of the doubt but I can’t see what they are doing right,” he stated.

Dr Nkrumah would probably stand for the CPP nomination, if this happens.
