Emmanuel Adebayor has been going through some family drama worthy of a telenovela, which has seriously impacted on his wellbeing.

In a series of Facebook posts, Adebayor has detailed the wrongs perpetrated on him by his family, who from his accounts are nothing more than leeches too prepared to feed off the one in their midst who made it big in life.

Throughout it all his family has also called him ungrateful and a disgrace to them, citing his unwillingness to help them. That was until two weeks ago when his younger brother in the midst of all this attempted suicide.

Now the family are seeking forgiveness from the football star. According to the Sun, a delegation of family and friends from Nigeria met the Tottenham forward to try to reconcile all parties, having apparently realised that the public battles are harming the family.

His mom and his younger brother Rotimi both begged forgiveness, although it seems Adebayor is not in the forgiving mood yet- which is understandable, especially if you have been following this story at all.

His brother especially seems in dire straits, he said he’s in financial difficulty and needs his brother.

“I am very ill now and I need money to treat myself. I also need cash to pay for my house rent, which is already due for payment. I asked him to assist me but
he refused. I hope my plea would not be for nothing”

The delegation who tried to broker the failed peace talks is now saying they would consult spiritualists to try and solve the issue. Good luck with that tack.

Whilst you cannot discount the possibility they are being sincere, the timing of the whole thing is suspicious, which is probably making Adebayor feel they need money rather than having a sincere desire to reconcile.
