OMG…Water And Electricity Tariffs Increased In Ghana

OMG
OMG

The Public Utilities And Regulatory Commission (PURC) have announced a 15% increase in water, as well as a 51.73% increase in electricity tariffs, effective today July 1.

Using what they call the Automatic Adjustment Formula, they carried out a review of current tariffs and decided that for the third quarter, these were the rates by which they should be adjusted.

However, the PURC said “it has decided to defer the increase for electricity due to the current electricity supply situation but has decided to pass on the adjustment for water because of the notable expansion in water infrastructure and considerable improvement in supply”

How big of them. They should rather be telling us how it is possible to adjust upwards the price of the electricity that we don’t have?

With fuel prices set to go upwards anytime soon as well, only God knows where this nation is headed.
