Despite his penchant for scandals, Asamoah Gyan is still an in demand footballer who is capable at his job.

Not content with the millions he’s accumulated in the Gulf, the Al-Ain forward is set for a move to China, to rake in more dough.

Reports this afternoon indicate the Ghana captain is the subject of a bid from Chinese side Shangai SIPG. The club wants to make Gyan their marquee signing this window, and have made a formal approach to his current Emirati employers.

Gyan is expected in China on Wednesday for talks with the team coached by world travelled coach Sven Goran Eriksen. Gyan is a proven goal scorer in these weaker leagues, and China would just give him more opportunities to cement his legend in Asia.

In monetary terms, the new deal would be around $350,000 per week, increasing his already significant pay check and making him the envy of many a person.
