It’s really dubious how seriously 50 is taking this entire situation. The man who has filed for bankruptcy continues to act like nothing has changed- because basically nothing has!
As explained, Chapter 11 filing is different from other forms of bankruptcy, and part of the process is getting a judge to sign off on the filing. To do that, 50 Cent and his lawyers have supplied the judge with a list of his debtors, and it contains one very unusual name.
50 Cent claims he owes his grandfather, Curtis Jackson Snr, $1,737.33. The list, obtained by TMZ, also includes owing Bentley $137,880, and American Express $64,909. The tip of the iceberg, though, is his debt in two court judgements he lost, which totals $23m.
Of course, the Lastonia Levinston case was part of his reason for filing. 50 Cent is treating this issue very casually; time will tell if he’ll get everything he wants through this move, which he obviously thinks is a very smart one.
