Nigeria Appoints Former Star Sunday Oliseh As National Team Coach

Sunday Oliseh unveiled

The Super Eagles parted ways with Stephen Keshi after a prolonged period of deliberation, and the Nigerian Football Federation has made a new choice.

Sunday Oliseh, former midfielder who actually played for years in the Super Eagles with Keshi, is to take over from his former teammate.

Oliseh played 63 times for Nigeria, and won the 1994 African Cup and the 1196 Olympics with the team.

The hope is he would bring some of that success to management, as he has very little being a coach. His only prior experience was coaching in the Belgian lower leagues in 2008/2009.

Oliseh’s immediate task would be to qualify Nigeria to the next African Cup of Nations.
