Yeezus divides opinion wherever he goes.

The organising committee of the ongoing 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, announced during the week that Kanye West would be performing at the closing ceremony of the games. It didn’t take long to send all of Canada into a frenzy.

Fans are furious, which has led to someone starting a change.org petition to stop the Yeezus from being allowed to perform. The petition says the choice of Kanye raises concerns, with most fans wondering why a polarising, smug, arrogant, bastard like him should headline Canada’s games.

The petition also wondered why any number of talented Canadians were not chosen? Drake, The Weeknd, and Shania Twain were just a few of those mentioned.

As at this writing, 46,899 people have signed the petition. Canadians do not really like Kanye West.

The closing ceremony is slated for July 26, so the organising committee have plenty of time to change their minds. Pitbull and Canadian singer Serena Ryder are the other performers for the closing ceremony.
